Hi guys!

I was wandering if you could help me! I have an Ipod which I use for listening in the car and on sundays when I want to relax in my home theater as two channel stereo.
I listen to vocals such as Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Norah Jones, etc. I love to listen to this music through my gear.

My question is should I buy CDs for these genre or stay with the MP3? I want better sound quality when I am listening to this type of music.

I have a yamaha receiver, polk lsi15s, amps, sub, etc.

Thanks

Either download lossless or buy the disk.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

Hello Fernando. If you would like better quality that an MP3, purchase the CD or LP. If you want better quality, purchase an XRCD, HDCD, DVD-A or an SACD [if you have the playback capabilities].

Please allow me to correct my previous post. I forgot a word. My apologies, hadn't had my mornin' coffee yet. :o

I've never heard an MP3 type file that sounds as good as a very well recorded/mastered CD, XRCD, HDCD, or SACD! That said, 'lossless' sounds excellent. I still prefer the higher end compact disc formats though.

Compression sucks! Any good system will reveal the difference between wav/wma lossless/FLAC/etc. from compressed audio in any format, be it mp3, wma, or god forbid AAC. Personally the one thing i've noticed is the hissing you get from compressed audio, although depending on your system you may not hear it. I use my zune for in-car listening but at home it's all cd's or lossless audio files through my digital music controller. If you don't want to spend all that money of cd's get on the pirate bay and start downloading those FLAC files!
