Would you start a blog?

If so, what would you write about?

I see so many blogs out there from people talking about the most inane things.

Don't get me wrong, some are good and very entertaining even if they aren't talking about anything in particular. Those "bloggers" have a real talent for writing. But many people have nothing to talk about except whine about how crappy their lives are or about what celebrity is doing what and when with who.

Me, I dunno. I'd try it out but it'd be hard to find a topic that had just the right amount of controversy to cause a ruckus and engage people without turning them off or against the blog. There's the stuff that people don't really care about like cars, electronics, computers and such. Most of those topics are saturated on the Internet anyway so there's a struggle for an audience and you gotta be REAL good to retain that audience and gain new members. Then there is the way most "bloggers" go with their own unique take on their daily happenings. That can be a good blog but, again, the talent for writing has to be there otherwise it sounds like some angry person on the Internet ranting about nothing of any consequence. So I dunno. I'm undecided I guess. It could be good but it could be a gigantic waste of time as well.

So if you started a blog, what would you write about?

I'd probably blog about "blogging", the art of "blogging", bloggers, the average blog. Or maybe I would blog about bogs....
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I thought about one a while back, since we are building a house and I wanted my family to be able to follow along with pictures and captions. I ended up just starting a facebook page where I can post pictures with comments on each one. Facebook is kind of a pain, I keep getting "friend" requests from people whom I don't really consider (close enough) friends, but I figure once the house is built I may just delete the whole thing and forget it.

I really don't care what type of latte some guy I went to college with had this morning. Or that some other guy had a high score on some farming game. (really?, a farming game?) So that kinda sucks.

But hey, if any of you jerks want to see how the house is coming along, PM me and I'll send you a "friend" request. ;)

I had to do a blog as part of research for my thesis. Not one person found it and used it (Probably better that way, easier :) I find that unless you have something ridiculous to say, are famous, or have someone to impress, that a blog usually goes unread. How many of us read blogs by non famous people?

My daughter has one, she writes stories based on a show she watches. She has a bunch of subscribers worldwide.

I don't have the attention span to keep up a blog even if I had something worthwhile to say.

Already have one. I started it a while back as kind of a lark, but a bunch of my friends found it entertaining so I kept it up. It's a nice outlet to say waht's on my mind, and quite a few people read it so I guess for some reason they enjoy it.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Had one for years. Started it in 1999. Lost interest about 3 years ago and it has gone dark. Once everybody was blogging, we got bored with it. *Shrugs*
