I hve a proyector. not a TV
Yamaha 7.1 and lots of speakers.
have 2 CSi 175 center channels
Can I put one speaker on top and the other in the bottom of the proyection panel as center speakers?
or will it be better to put both on top or down the proyection panel?
Don´t worry about the impedance thing, 2 4ohm speakers in serial.

Thanks for your opinions.

Yes you can. BB3 is gonig to be doing that with his HT. You just need to get a IC Y adaptor to send the signal to two seperate channels of a HT amp or to both the Left and Right of one 2 channel amp.

    Why???
Because if I put one on top it will be 2 feet under the roof, to high!! and the L/R channels will have to be up.

If I put one on the bottom will be at 3 feet from the floor so the L/R will have to be too down or the sound image will not be ok.

So I think one up and one down the proyection screen pointing to the sweeet spot will permit to put the L/R speakers in the horizontal middle of the proyection screen, at the sides of course.

My concern is about sound (if the above set up is better or not than putting one or two speakers up or down the proyection panel) not how to conect them.

    Sorry about my english.

If you angle the center correctly, you should only need one.

What you just described you were going to do would negate any "need" to run two of them. :)

    Sorry, is PROJECTOR??

    Proyector is in spanish.

My english is not so good, so I did not understand the:
"What you just described you were going to do would negate any "need" to run two of them."

Can you explain that to me, in a little more simple way.
    I will apreciate that.

Why do you want to use two centers instead of single center?

Multiple center channels can cause comb filtering(cancellation of certain frequencies).

If you angle the center channel as you said you were going to do, then you won't need to run two center channels, since the one speaker will be angled to hit the correct listening height. :)

The sound will not cancell, same 2 speakers in serial mode.
I got the point, is just that I have two centers.

My projection screen is abot 9x6 feet. when I put 1 center some sounds apear to come from the roof not from the center of the screen.
I was wondering if putting one in the center top and one in the center bottom of the screen and the L/R at the middle/sides of the screen will make better and coherent sound effects.

    Tanks.

All you need to do is angle your center speaker correctly... Then you will only need one...

edit: I've tried using two center channels, but I think the image presented by one center speaker is better...

The only way you'll know is by trying it yourself.

I think you'll probably have better results with a single center channel though.

Have you tried using a single center channel, and placing it below the screen? I'd try that before putting the second center channel in.

Put the center below the screen and angle it upwards towards your listening position, with the tweeters firing directly towards your ears. You may get better results than you are with it located above the screen.

This is one of the things I like about the Polk CSi centers. They're angled on top, but flat on the bottom. This allows you to place directly above the screen/monitor (flat side), or underneath pointing up at the listener (angled side down). You get the best of both worlds.

My only gripe with the aforementioned center channel line is that it has zero mounting options without drilling into the speaker, thus making them incredibly useless as my center would need to be wall mounted above my computer monitor (computer is my HT center) and there is no room on my desk to put any speakers.

But yeah, angle the speaker up or down toward the listener. Just put it as close to the screen/monitor as you can.
