As the title says.

I must be missing something simple but I can't seem to figure it out. Can someone please explain?

Thanks

There is an option to the right of the video with the embed code. Just copy and paste.....

The embedding code is not HTML, it's XML.

The Clubhouse forum allows videos to be embedded but the other forums do not.

To embed video, wait for the video you are watching to finish. If the author/submitter/owner of the video has allowed embedding, there will be two sections to the right of the video. One is the URL for the direct link to the video. The other is the XML code for embedding the video in an HTML page. If you are watching the video on YouTube.com, there will be sections to the right under the video information section and you do not have to wait for the video to end.

The direct link URL is just that, a link. If you post it in a vBulletin or phpBB bulletin board, the software recognizes it as a link and treats it as such. If you are using it in an HTML document, you need to use the HREF tags around the link for it to show properly.

If you are embedding the video, all you have to do from YouTube is highlight the embedded video code, right click and select copy. Then open a new post window in the Clubhouse and paste the video code in the text box where you would normally put your post. Click "Preview Post" to ensure the video shows up. If it does, post away. If not, go back and copy the link instead and post that.

Embedded code does or does not work based on how the admin of the message forum you are participating at has setup up the forum to behave. If the video was not allowed to be embedded by YouTube the embedding code would not be available and there would be a message stating that the author has requested that embedding be disabled.

Yeah, I understand now. I was trying to post a video in the Movies and Music forum and copying the XML imbed code didn't work in that forum. Thought there might be a way around it.

I've been bitching to Justin and now Patrick for a while now.

The Music and Movies forum is where it makes the most sense to have the ability so things like movie trailers can be posted or music videos.

The more people that **** usually the better results ;)

By the way, thank for the clear information on embedding process (the why and why not).

    Cheers!
