I've been slow in coming to the realization, and haven't jumped on the bandwagon, but PayPal really, really, IS suck.
A brief: Have had an account which was also tied to a Money Market accnt for around 5 years, never an issue, never a dispute, never a phone call other them calling me to authorize a large charge (trip to Caribbean). I've had more than a couple of transactions well over 1K.
The story: Sold a pair of Prada shoes on their sister site, ebay, yesterday. Buyer pays immediately, and would like the shoes . . . which rock incidently, but don't fit me:mad:, . . and yes, I'm mostly hetero.
I go to the PP site, and check the funds. They are pending. . hmmm. I think eCheck or something. Nope. PP has just taken it upon themselves to hold the funds until the buyer leaves me feedback, or 21 days, whichever comes first. Did I just turn into a cabbage? What the frak is up with these people?
I can appreciate a good stickup, but this passive-aggressive crap that is done without any prior notification and is so arbitrary, and frankly insulting, that I'm done with them for taking payment on ebay. They won't ever get another fee from me.

It's a new policy implemented by eBay because of increased fraud or something. I doubt that is effective outside of eBay transactions though. PPal is owned by ebay, but its the eBay policy that is your problem, not PP in general.
I'm pretty sure I received notification from either PP or Ebay at some point about this change.
One change I do like that PP did recently is add the Personal Payment option. It eliminates the seller surcharge for personal / Non-ebay type transactions, when the funds are sourced from a debit, PP balance. So no more 2.9% upcharge is required all the time anymore.____________________

So you as a seller can't get the money until you get feedback or 21 days later? How does that make sense. So I'm supposed to ship my item on the hope the seller doesn't file a non shipped item with eBay? Which could delay the payment even more than 21 days. Screw all that nonsense.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

well, you know, . . from the waist up.
The whole thing isn't that big of a deal really, I don't need the money today, but at some point I have to take this crap personally. I call it friction. Friction for changing this and that, phone trees, exorbitant fees, nuisance fees, outright extortion, ratejacking etc. Blah blah, Policy. . . ToC.
I don't have time to read the 7 page fine print legalese, or to review the new 'Privacy Policy' that comes out every 3 months. When the 'friction' to me as a paying customer reaches the point where I feel that that provider is no longer acting in good faith, and is looking to extract every cent it can from me, regardless of what the original agreement was, I want nothing to do with them. I have my own policy, and it's pretty simple, I don't deal with scumbags. I don't do it personally, and I don't do it in my professional life. I may make a little less, but that's absolutely fine with me.
Regarding the forum, there is no better place. I thought of popping them in the FM, but I didn't know that anyone would be interested and I didn't want to muck-up in there. There not nearly as nice as the 600$ Pradas, but I've got an unworn pair of Cole Haans that needs to go as well You can wear them without fear of getting a bro-ner.-Ignorance is strength - -

Ebay does this with certain items that are commonly counterfeited or scammed. PS3, Ipod, designer clothing, etc. Your best thing is to use PayPal to generate the shipping label so that tracking is automatically linked. Often this will release the funds. If not then, it is often released when the tracking shows delivery confirmation. As a buyer, I'm pleased that Ebay/PayPal do this because it has cut down on fraud significantly. As a seller, I only had this occur when I sold an Ipod. The hold was lifted when it showed delivery confirmation. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...
