Just watched it. Good rental, at best. No real suspense, some ok gore and horror, no info on the "enemies" (don't want to give anything away). It was mildly entertaining but not one I'd ever need to see a second time.
I'd give it a C+If...

It actually was pushed back a few weeks or so. I went to Movie Gallery to get it the day it was supposed to come out and it wasn't there, the guy told me they didn't get any copies and probably wouldn't. Went to MG tonight and saw it sitting on the shelf, picked it up and Whiteout as well. Will check em out, seems to be mixed reviews.

Why is anyone confused as to how the enemies in this came about? They were pretty clear about it. Maybe if I put it in gray text, it'll be too hard to read to really spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it and others can drag their mouse over it. Let's see...
Spoiler:
The settlers aboard the ship were given drugs to speed up their evolution so that they could rapidly adapt to the conditions on the new planet once they arrived. However, because people were released into the ship and stuck there for hundreds of years, they adapted to that environment instead, quickly evolving into hunters. That's why the only normal people were those who had only been out of stasis for a brief time.
End of spoiler.

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie! It was actually pretty good. Seems like most of the movies I've watched lately were kinda blah, so this one was refreshing. Like others have said, the sound is pretty kick ****! I would have liked to see more after they "surfaced", but we can't have it all. It has good sequel potential though:) I would give it 3.95 stars:DSony 40" LCD

I saw it a few weeks back. While the plot is plausible, it will not make my "buy" list when the local "mom and pop" video store starts surplusing the extra new rental copies it buys and then sells to make room for new arrivals.

Just finished this... I really enjoyed it. The eye candy girl made it even better...
I totally agree that with being there for almost 1000 years, it made perfect sense how the evolution happened with the "creatures."
I would watch again, and possibly buy from Wallyworld in the $5 bin.

Yea, I'd buy it from Wallyworld's $5 bin. To me it was a typical horror scifi film of folks running from the monsters and then they eventually defeat them ... with a couple of interesting twists of good guys that turned out to be nuts. The ending was a pleasant surprise and created the movie's saving grace.
It is not on my re-rent list again, much less "buy" (unless I found it in the Wallyworld bin ). -
I liked it...pretty decent SciFi...no real holes in the plot or internal logic...good acting sold the suspense and angst...great pq/aq...watched it twice, once alone and once with the wife.

I revisited this a week or so ago, and it still holds up. IMHO, one of the better sci-fi flicks I've seen in a while... and OH, the sound! The closest experience to this in recent memory was the game Dead Space (which you should totally play if you have surround sound).Equipment list:

Pandorum is okay, but I did not like the lack of a decent explanation for the mutants. They were to convenient, and it would not have been that hard to explain them in the movie.
But... they DID explain them. See my previous post with the gray text.Equipment list:

His spoiler text show shows up a a very light gray font that is readable if you look closely at it on my PC. That seems reasonable.
How do you invoke spoiler tags? -

How do you invoke spoiler tags?...and hides your text in a spoiler box. It used to work here. I saw the grey'd out text and wondered why it wasn't in a box. Then I tried to put my own in and it didn't work.

I didn't do it right. -
Let's see:the ship was actually a submarine and was laying underneath Lake Michigan all along
This is an untrue revelation of the movie's plot, but merely a spoiler issue test being discussed within the last couple of posts. -
I still cannot get this to work right here.
