Replacement driver for SVS 25-31CS

I bottomed the sub out a few times when I first got it and tortured it again when I was playing with a sms-1.....all unintentional.
It sounds fine most of the time but every now and then I'll hear that dreaded "clack" sound on really intense scenes.
I do run it at -3 these days on an Outlaw pre/pro but the damage has already been done.
I bought the sub used a couple years back and it has the original driver.
I contacted SVS and they are recommending the 12" NSD-AL driver as a replacement.
The new driver from SVS is $200.
Is there an alternative driver that is equivalent or better than the SVS driver for less $ ?
What do you guys recommend?
Thanks, G

I'd stick with SVS. Call SVS and see if the 12 plus woofers(12.3 series) fit in the enclosure. It's a step up from the NSD woofer and is also $200.

Actually, the 12.3 is listed at $399 there now. 12.3 probably won't fit in there because of the port length interfering with the depth of the 12.3 driver. Plus, the CS line only has a single port, whereas the + line was triple ported. I'd stick with the NSD, which is a significant improvement upon the original driver.
The original SVS drivers were made by TC Sounds, but the closest thing they'd have is the $300 Epic 12". Besides, the guy who was designing them for TC Sounds back then now works at SVS and they build all their drivers in-house, so you might as well stick with SVS.Equipment list:
Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
Epson 8500UB 1080p projector

Nope.
They are real easy to work with and can get you hooked up with what you need, even if it is something different than the original driver.
