When I first got the AVIA disc I noticed a knocking and even a helicopter type sound coming from one of my built in subs at very low frequencies. I brought it up at the time but was advised that it was probably my receiver. (Sony de-915 crap) I got a Denon 3801 and put the Sony in a box. where. it belongs this spring. I have noticed the odd knock out of the speaker since but it really came forward when I rented the Final Fantasy dvd. Can someone give me advise on what to do to overcome this?

Love my Polks but don't want to embaress myself when I demo them for a special friend coming out from the East in a couple of weeks.

Thanks & regards
EJ

    Hi

How do you have your 2000s subs connected to your receiver? Is the noise coming from both speakers? Where do you have the volumn set on the sub amps?

I have the speakers connected to the top posts with the gold connector in place. I have them set at about 4/10 or 11:00. The noise just comes from my front right speaker.

If it coming from only one I would look at it very carefully. switch your left and right speakers, does the knocking move with your speaker or does it stay on the right side? it is stays you have something wrong upstream from the speaker, if it move to the left when you move the speaker it is the speaker.
    Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
    Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
    ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
    Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
    Outlaw ICBM - crossover
    Beringher BFD - sub eq

Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

    Hi

Try what Hoosier suggested. If the noise stays with the speaker contact Polk and they will tell you what to do. If it is not the speaker you have a problem elsewhere. Make sure you have a good connection on the receiver. Not likely two receivers have the same problem. Also make sure the wire run is not next to any ac lines or fluorescent lights. That can cause a problem.

Also try plugging the problem speaker into another ac outlet. You could be picking up line noise on that outlet.

    Let us know,
