Wiring mono amps

Hello Polk Land,

I am going to purchase interconnect cables and speaker wire for a 2 channel, 2 speaker installation. With Mono amps, should I spilt the difference in distance between the source and speaker by placing the amps in between and having equal distance inter connect AND speaker cables?

For instance, lets say the speakers are sitting six feet to each side of the source rack. Should I place the mono amps on stands in between the source and speaker and purchase equal length 3.5 ft cables? Or does it not make a hill of beans of difference?

Thanks

the best set up in theory would be to have the amps as close to the speakers as possible to shorten the speaker cable. Although, i doubt in practice you'd notice too much of a difference with that short a distance.

What Wes said,,just make sure that you do not have really long runs of interconnects from your pre to your amps.
JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

    Thanks Folks, this sounds good.

Is there an optimum distance good speakers should be placed apart for 2 channel listening?

Equilateral triangle for 2ch listening. Ideally at least 6ft apart.
