I need some input on choosing a preamp for my sda-1a's.I now use a nad c370 intergrated, with a music hall mmf25 cd player.Im going to upgrade my xovers as well as the tweeters, was actually going to do that first but it looks like I have a serious buyer for my nad and a pair of m10-2's.I have two carver tfm24 amps running my livingroom rig,so I going to move one to the sda's and add a good preamp with it.Im getting $400 for my gear and can put an extra $200 with it,I think I can get something pretty decent for that.I would appreciate any recomdations.

How about a passive? Something like CI Audio. Fact is, your Music Hall has 2v outputs, thats more than enough to drive the Carvers. Unless you feel you need an active gain stage, keep it simple. More often than not less turns out to be more in the audio world.
Just throwing it out there.....

I just sold my 565 on ebay. ( hope it was not mine? Looks like someone at the last sec won with a 260 bid) I had it on here for about a month with no offers. With my 1.2 or 2.3 it did sound great. I used it for a few years and I liked the adcom 565 and I would recommend that to anyone unless you want to spend a little bit more and go tube. I am now using a carver C-19 tube preamp. I will never go back to a SS pre.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

Had a GFP-565 for many years and liked it a lot. Went to "home theater" from 2-channel in '03 or '04, and now use an Aragon Stage One. Have also put the Aragon 24K into the system, that's a real honey, and has a phono section (the Stage One does not.)
Aragon equipment is often under-priced on the used market. The older stuff is built like a tank, very reliable, and high-quality. A Stage One, 24K, 18K or 28K can be had for pennies on the dollar in today's market. Even the Aurum/Ingot can be had for ~$600--$700 although they aren't as readily available as some of the other ones I've listed. -
