That was an interesting Sunday for Week 9 in the NFL

Quite a few more surprising outcomes in the Win/Loss categories. Like what the hell happened to the Giants? But kudos to San Diego for a well played game.

And yes, your eyes are not lying that was the Bengals stomping a mudhole in the Ravens. What happened to them too? They were so promising.

But boy did the Bears lay a stinker! Arizona ran away with that one completely!

Miami had a good showing against NE and that game was closer than the score says it was IMO.

Tennessee pulling out a win as well and Seattle almost dropped the ball against Detroit. But from what I saw, Stafford and the Lions are looking good. I think they will be something worth watching next year. They seem to get more cohesive every week.

And what about Tampa Bay pulling out the win over Green Bay? There are no winless teams at this point.

But the Sunday Night game was good one! Not the best football I've seen from either team but it was a defensive battle for sure. The Eagles last week were said to not need Westbrook. But, without a shadow of a doubt, they cannot get by without him. They need his experience and leadership. Being on the sidelines is not enough. He needs to be on the field.

That said, how about Dallas' defense against the run? Jay Ratliff was a monster last night! But I gotta say, Peters on the Eagles is an immense talent that Philly cannot afford to lose. For the downs he was out, DeMarcus Ware was all over the ends of the line and in McNabb's face. As soon as Peters came back in, not so much Ware.

That was a close game. I don't think the Eagles got out-played. I think both teams did well. McNabb left quite a few yards and consequently points, on the field but so did the Cowboys. Stupid penalties abounded as well. But the game came down to coaching and clock management and Wade Phillips just did it better than Andy Reid and that's what cost the Eagles the game. It's a shame it ended that way because it was one of the best games I've seen on a Sunday night. It was so good I was even able to get past Michaels' and Collinsworth's incessant prattling on about nothing in particular.

Oh and Will Witherspoon on Eagles? Yeah, what a bargain he was! Tremendous ability and each week he racks up the numbers and shows the Eagles just how valuable he is. They are going to have to step up and offer him some serious coin when his contract is up he keeps playing the way he has.

Thing is, he's quiet, nobody really knows about his but he's one of those guys that offenses have to plan for. The Eagles have a top tier player there that fits the Eagles defense plan well. Witherspoon and Jordan were consistently in the Dallas backfield all night long.

Good to see Michael Turner returning to last year's form. Jstas... I gotta say I'm impressed with Dallas. But then again, I saw what they could do against Atlanta - and it's scary how well they can play at times. It appears Romo may be starting to get "it".

As for Stafford - just because he finally figured out that he can actually look downfield to pass the ball, doesn't mean that doing so commits him to do it. I'm nowhere NEAR getting on board with him.

It might be fun to watch the Titans for the next couple of games. Helluva hole to start the season, but the talent and the upcoming schedule look interesting...

Does Indy even have enought players left to field a defense? Last week Marlin Jackson and Bob Sanders done for the season and Kelvin Hayden out for 3-4 weeks. I expect to see a 300lb backup defensive lineman playing corner any day now.

At some point this has to catch up with them. Payton will continue to win some games with his arm...but the defense that has been playing over it's head may become a real liabilty. They are probably a lock for the playoffs...but it will be interesting to see how the second half of the season plays out...especially on defense.

Yeahh.... i feel like we're really going to miss Bob Sanders.

I don't really have high Super Bowl hopes for them, but it's just funny to me that they keep quietly plowing their way through the season unnoticed to most. :)

I wouldn't go so far as to say Romo is getting "it". I'm not even sure he has "it" to get. I think his players make him look much better than he is. I mean, he's no slouch and can read a defense pretty well but he only has 4 games being "consistent" and to me that's still in the "luck" category. I think the defense has much more to do with it. If Romo really had "it" or was beginning to find "it", with guys like Austin and Williams, who looks like he's starting to wake up, at either end of the line, he should be able to shred any secondary in the league. Especially if it's only to draw coverage and get the short slants to the tight ends and backs. He's flying high right now for sure and they have a fairly cake schedule by the numbers through the rest of November but things get rough again in December and he chokes in December. So we'll see if he can pull this season out. IMO, the Eagles are the toughest team to beat in the NFC East right now and the Cowboys are dangerous enough that they can hand anybody in the NFC, as well as the rest of their schedule, a hard loss.

Stafford looks shaky in the long game but he hasn't really gone there and I know why. He has a lack of trust in his receiving group. He doesn't feel they can go for the long ball without giving up the ball. He was overly risky on Sunday but I think he was seeing what they can do. The season is over for them. They aren't going anywhere. Might as well use the opportunity to get some of your players experienced. It'll build confidence. Besides, he has a head and he uses it. I think there is a good deal of potential in the Lions and a large chunk of it lies with Stafford. His receivers can run a long ball, they can get open. They just need to get used to it. I mean, they did open up with 17 unanswered points until the Seahawks finally woke up and realized it was a football game and not a knitting class.

I agree about the Titans. I think they have a chance of at least coming away with an even season and an outside chance of having a winning season, even if it is only a 9-7 season.

psh. I have complete faith in Rodger's ability to lead this team just as well as Favre did.

I don't know if they blew it so much as Pittsburgh looked REALLY good to me. It just appeared that they were playing as a team and looked to be having so much fun doing so. Seeing Hines Ward break into a goofy grin AS he was hurdling that defender into the end zone was priceless.

Seems some of us may have forgot about the defending champs...

Oh no, I think Pittsburgh played pretty well last night but I was expecting much more of a fight. Denver blew quite a few plays, Orton spent a good deal of his time on his back behind the line of scrimmage and he should be playing for Pittsburgh because it's obvious he likes throwing to them. I think his completion rate to Pittsburgh rivaled his completion rate to Denver.

It was disappointing. I haven't bee able to watch much more than a smattering and highlights of Denver games. This was the first one I got a chance to see and I wasn't impressed with them at all. Not at all. They blew it.

On the flip side, Pittsburgh showed some brutal defense last night. Especially in the first half.

Given the 'barely-win' over the Texans and the injuries on defense I don't think it's realistic that I'll see my Colts in the big game. I think they'll make the playoffs just by default, but I just think there's too many obstacles in their way to the Super Bowl.

We'll find out alot when they play New England this weekend. As much as I hate to say it, I don't think it's gonna be that close. The Colts don't have anyone that can match up with Randy Moss or Wes Welker. Peyton may be able to help get some points on the board, but I don't think he'll be able to score enough to keep up. If the Patriots don't take advantage of those mis-matches then they're just dump, and I don't think they're dumb.

Can you imagine the Colts without Peyton running things on offense? If he goes down and it's Sorgey in there, the Colts are getting an early pick in the 2010 draft :D

This is gonna sound really wierd given their current respective records, but I actually think my Giants have a batter chance of playing in the big game than do the Colts. The Giants have some things to work on obviously, but at least they still have their personel in tact...

A lot of Bronco fans are wondering if the zone blocking scheme is still being used. Last year that line could run block anybody. The last two games have been painful.

Give Lebeau credit, two weeks to prepare the Steeler defense and it looked like he had the Broncos second half play sheet in his pocket.

I do think that Harrision is going to get a hefty fine for the helmet to helmet shot on Burkhalter, that was one vicious shot.
