Tube newbie question

When someone here says "I'm rolling my tubes" , what does that mean? Oh and please spare the obvious cigarette/joint quips. Thanks.

    Rolling tubes: Trying different tubes in your application. Different tubes have different sound qualities and can change the sound of your gear. Some sound significantly different, some give subtle changes.

    replacing with different tubes. I rolled a pair of Raytheon 5814s with a pair of Mullards for example.
    Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

    Thank you. I get it now. My Rotel RCD-855 has a modified tube output stage and since I now have at least one piece of equipment with tubes I thought I'd better be up on the lingo. I appreciate your input.
