I have never heard the KG 4's but owned some kg 4.5's and have owned monitor 10's, both have their strong points but have to give it to the monitor 10's overall IMO, mine were series 2
It all depends on what you are looking for, vintage Klipsch are still some of my favorite, the highs can be a little bright but seems to work really well on some types of music, but the Polk's overall for just about everything sounds better to me.

I own both and think they're about equal. The peerless tweeters in some 10's will give the edge to Polk.;)
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

I've owned the 10B in the past & have heard the KG-4's. They're really two completely different sounding speakers. KG-4's are much more in your face, the Polks more laid back, even with the somewhat brighter sl2000 tweeter. I really think you need to hear them for yourself to decide.

I will make a comment since I have owned 2 sets of each in the past. (not at the same time).

First of all, both of these speakers offer incredible bang for the $ on the used market. I had:
    - Klipsch KG4 bought brand new when I was in high school.
    - Another set of KG4's bought off this forum for $125 and resold all of the parts on e-bay for about $450.
    - Monitor 10A bought from a freind for $60 and resold on e-bay for $285 I think.
    - Monitor 10B bought on craigslist for $125 and sold for I think around $240 on e-bay as well.

The KG4 is an incredible speaker that will take tons of abuse. I think the best part of that speaker is an awesome midrange. It palys all type of music well.

The Monitor 10 has a great low end bass response.

Both speakers are very sensitive to room placement and when set up properly, I think you would enjoy either of them. Seriously.

The KG4 is my favorite only due to sentimental reasons. It was my 1st nice set of speakers and rocked my moms crib and the 2nd floor of Albright-Benton dorm at WCU.
