I think that was originally done by the Beatles. I do not think there was a link to Manson.Michael

no, its just a laid back song, after reading the info I wanted to know if anyone ever covered the songs and low and behold. -
Helter Skelter was done by the Beatles, Manson did allot of drugs and became obsessed with the Beatles and thats where he got his crazy ideas.

No, the Beatles wrote it but Charles Manson believed the Beatles were trying to tell him through the Whitel Album to start a revolution. The words Helter Skelter (although mis-spelled) were written on the wall I believe at the site of the Sharon Tatle murder by one of Charlie's girls. Manson wanted the crimes to look as though angry black's had committed them and the "revolution" was supposed to be black's rising up against the rich white's. Twisted but true.SDA-1C (full mods)

I have a movie called Helter Skelter a newer version with Jeremy Davis playing Charlie and he does a fantastic job and it is really historically accurate too

Interesting stuff Fongolio. Now I know exactly what Bono meant on "Rattle and Hum." Before U2 sings their version of Helter Skeltor he says, "Here's a song Charles Manson stole from the Beattles...and we're stealing it back."Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden
