I don't know if this needs to be here or in the Flea Market section. (Justin/Micah - If it needs to be moved please move it) I am a member of the BMG CD club. They have a special going on now where I can get unlimited CDs for $6.99 with no shipping and handling.

As I understand it I can pass this offfer on to anyone else and I don't think you have to join the club (order XX CDs with only XX to buy later).

*** NOTICE - IF YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS I WILL GET A FREE CD ***

This is not why I am doing this. I just sent off a $100 order tonight. I think this is a GREAT deal and while their catalog is limited there are still hundreds of titles that you may want. I have to send in your e-mail address and they will send you the offer directly.

Please understand - I am not out just to get free CDs. If they allowed it I would pass this on even if I didn't get anything (The CDs are a nice little perk though :D)

If you are interested, send me your e-mail address and I will send it to BMG.

That's a bogus web addy BEWARE!

And never advertise your own web addy on a public forum, you just opened yourself to 100 hacks, and so did I for letting you know. But thats the nature of the beast.

Excuse me...What is bogus? The ad? I assure you it is legit. The reason the add only has part of a word is because I did not copy all of it. Here are all of the sements.

One of their e-mail addresses? I don't care as I am not sending anything to them directly...just sending their address to BMG. And do I get hacked?...probably not...I've got pretty good firewalls and filters. Maybe a little spam... but if it gets too bad I'll just close that Yahoo account and set up a new one (they are free plus I have a couple of secure ones for serious stuff).

Am I or my e-mail bogus? I've been on the forum a while and have conversed via e-mail with several of the members.

Shack - No you are not bogus, you represent the forum well. I just find the link wack, but thats IMO. It doesn't reflect on you, you just found it, no biggie.

I just find that companies like BMG and Columbia House are misleading in their representation and that's what the ad is for. The educated buyer/ user should be aware is all I was concerned about.

Rock on, people, buy CD's until your teeth fall out! :) A added bonus is when you don't pay up, they can report you to your local credit bureau.

I like BMG for CDs and Columbia House for DVDs a lot. I just ordered 17 CDs from BMG for $107 delivered (Plus I got enough bonus points to get another CD for free). That comes to about $6.30 each, not counting the bonus. I regularly get DVDs form Columbia House for around $10. I keep a membership open with each one to get their member's specials and will occasionally open another account to get their special "sign up" deals and then close it once I have met the requirements. Once you have met the membership obligations they are constantly sending you nice deals...you just have to figure what is the best way to go. I am in no way a shill for either one of these companies, but I don't mind passing on info on what I think is a good deal from time to time.

Yes they do...and so does any other business that extends you credit...if you don't pay. Why would anyone think that when a person stiffs a company and that letting the world know they don't pay their obligations is a bad thing? In my business, I want to know if you don't pay...because if you have lousy credit...I don't do business with you.

Oh...and please don't anyone feed me any sob stories about the terrible things companies, banks etc... do to collect what is owed them. I've heard them all and can pick out the legit and the bogus. I've been on both sides as a collector and as a board member for the local consumer credit counciling agency. Sorry...this is just a personal rant of mine....If you borrow money or get credit...pay it back...whatever it takes!

Shack daddy, I agree with you. If your experience with them is good, then thats all that matters. I am especially down with the credit comments. If you can't pay or won't pay you should be held accountable, for sure. Where's the honor today? Its non-existent. :(
