Saw this CL-ad and had to post it because I just thought it was hilarious lol.

I guess the white-van speaker scam has come out with a new brand name, VOLK AUDIO.

I bought that exact same surround sound system several years back...mine went by the name of ProDynamics though.

I still have it...it's really not that bad sounding for a little HTIB.

The guy in the parking lot at Best Buy that I bought it from was originally asking $350 IIRC...I talked him down to $60.

Yes, they're pieces of crap...but...They worked very well for me for a long time.

Just thinking a little more about it, wouldn't it be fun to scam one of these guys?

"I got some $2300 speakers I can sell you for $300 cash"

"Sorry man, those look awesome but I don't have any money on me. I do have an extremely esoteric preamp (could be anything) in my car which I was going to take to the sell-it-on-ebay guy. He said he could get at least $1900 out of it, maybe more. Give me $300 plus the speakers and I'll trade".

Give him some home made funky/classy looking thing that costs nothing. :)

Don't forget that the Volks are German-engineered.
Their claim is that Volks are to Mercedes' as Polks are to Chevy's.
I see nothing that would refute that claim.

Sounds like robbery getting that $2000 German engineered system for only $60.:D
It is not nice to take advantage of others that way.;)

The box has an MSRP printed on it...it says the MSRP is $2400 IIRC. lmao...

It's essentially a knock off of one of the cheaper Bose systems. Sadly, it probably sounds better than the real thing.;)

I take it you actually have one of the Volk Audio systems?

If so...I'm sorry. You've been scammed. Volk Audio is not a real company. Those are counterfeit speakers that are extremely low quality...and are sold by scam artists.

    All that being said...

As I mentioned earlier in this thread...I've got a pair of white van scam speakers...and I was always quite happy with them while I was using them. I've since moved on to much bigger and much better things, and they could in no way compare to my system of today...but they are what they are. For the $60 I paid for them, I was immensely happy with them. They offered a tremendous improvement over my TV speakers, and the little shelf stereo that I was listening to music on at the time.

Honestly, you'd have to pay at least $300-400 to get a similar system with equivalent sound from a reputable(or real for that matter) brand. Hopefully you didn't pay too much for your Volk Audio system though.

For the record, that amp is DEFINITELY not pushing out 2800 watts. It's probably closer to a total maximum system wattage of maybe 200.

Since it's essentially a counterfeit knock-off product...there may not even be a way to hook up a sub.

Can you post a picture of the back panel, showing the inputs/outputs? That'll help us to help you.
