Do I need to upgrade my sub?

Thanks to all of your help this is my new setup:

TSi500 fronts
TSi200 surround
CS2 Center (although i think i am going to get the CS20 because I am anal about things matching - if anyone wants to take this off my hands I'll be posting it in the for sale forum soon)
Pioneer Elite VSX-21

The only thing that is not new now is a leftover sub from my RM6600 the PSW350. Would upgrading to the TSi line sub make a difference? And although I love everything to match my sub can't really be seen where it is. So only musically speaking, would it make a difference.

Thanks AGAIN!

Let me be more specific, I'm on a budget. Sub would be under $600. Or am I good with the one I have?

For $600 or under, you are absolutely not good with the one that you have.

You could actually score the sub that Thuffman is talking about on the used market, and there's TONS of options in that price range even on the new market.

Maybe a PSW505 from newegg? Or hell... two of them?

Possibly a used SVS anything, Klipsch RW-12D, Mirage Omni S10 Prestige, Mirage Omni S12, Martin Logan Depth, etc etc etc...

If you are willing to go up $100, the Epik Sentinel is hard to beat! $649 on sale plus shipping. www.epiksubwoofers.com I have one coming myself. I have heard nothing but great things about their subs. It will play down to 16 HZ and is near table flat from 20-200 Hz at reference level...

and is the general consensus that polk is the way to go for speakers, but not for subs?

For your price range.... probably not.

The Micropro series are nice, though.

would this price range of sub be overkill for tsi500s? should i be spending less? i am looking more for sound quality/accuracy than volume/wattage.

I'm a firm believer that there's no such thing as sub overkill. You can always turn the volume down on it.

So... in the spirit of hopefully upgrading just once, i'd say your price range is good. :)

Hahaha, ahhhh.... so you're sick. Just like the rest of us. :D

In that case, i would think about maybe just grabbing a PSW-505 off of Newegg for cheap, and then either:

    1) Get another one and run stereo subs (Baller!!)
    2) use the remaining money for other new toys

Or just get a big nasty sub now and get it over with. Because you'll want it. Might as well skip one upgrade step.

I'm kindof in the same boat. I just got rid of my subs (Mirage Omni S8, Klipsch RW-10D) and now i'm waiting on my dual Dayton Titanic 10s. But i'm already thinking about what i can get later.

Actually, i forgot to mention those. I think $600 can get you a Dayton Titanic 12" kit.
