I'm looking through my archives, I'll update when I find it.

If I remember right, sealed box, passive radiator design. 1 inch soft dome, 6.5 inch midbass, 8 inch passive radiator. Somewhere along the lines of 35Hz-22KHz, 125 watts continuous. Late 80's I think.

The S series was short lived, if you have ever seen the Boston A series, the cabs were very shallow, and somewhat thin (build wise). My beloved mother is using a pair of S6 in her 2ch rig(same speaker, without the pr and ported, IF I remember the S8 correctly). The biggest **** I have with S line from Polk was the build of the cabs.

Hook up with your co-worker, and check em out, you will see/feel immediately what I am talking about on the build front. There is NOTHING inert about the S series, but for low-powered applications, they do sing rather well.

    Cheers,
    Rooster

I wish I could find my literature on the S series, the S8 might actually have been an 8" two-way, I'll keep digging.

The S8 used an active 7.5 driver with a 7.5 passive radiator. 3dB limits were 42Hz-23kHz. Will handle up to 150 watts and are rated 90 dB sensitivity.

Hi. I am brand new to this forum. I have these speakers, the S8's and I love them. The reason I came here is so I could find a replacement driver for one of the speakers. I don't want to part with these because they sound great...to me.

I have a pair of S10s. I love the sound. Cabs are very square, newer models look nicer then these, but they are not that bad. The 10s were the top S model they made so the 8s are one down from the top. Sound is great though. I bought these in college 10yrs ago new, and they still sound great. I still use them if that gives you any indication if you sound buy them or not. Sorry but I don't have pics.

Russ is talking about the plastic cabs -- kinda flimsy cabs...
