Is anyone else involved in this, or have you received an email?

I'm getting a brand new(probably refurbished) Harmony 1000 based on this lawsuit. WOOT!

*EDIT* - You get a Harmony 890.

I can forward the information via email...perhaps its on the Harmony website. If you're not a registered owner, you are probably out of luck.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I don't know what the actual replacement is, just that I get a replacement. That may be correct....that's fine by me, I'll take an 890 for free.

GV - The remote sucked, plain and simple.

than you can't restrict this to the 1000. 20% fail rate within one year as a full model year. I'll stick to my URC aka custom control-able remote.

wow that was a long email. I for some reason doubt that I have either of the reciepts that they ask for, Im not sure if I want to return my remote until I know for sure that this is legit. Well I guess I will have to do some more research on this and then decide.

Its because they didn't deliver on their promise to deliver Z-Wave functionality to the remotes. Home automation stuff.

Yeah, I got the email too. I'll take the remote and gift it away for Xmas or something. I switched over to the Harmony One a long time ago.

+1 Had a URC remote for 6+ years, tried a Harmony and gave it an honest try. Within a month, I went back to a new URC MX-880. You don't have to 'trick' it to do what you want, and don't have to wait for email support.

Actually there was an update that broke many of them, and the remedy was that owners pony up for a new 1100. (50% off, of course)
So for a mere $250, you could remain a happy Harmony owner.

There is a very long thread at Harmony's forum that details how the customers are being treated. I like Logitech products, but they have ruined the Harmony brand.

Since I bought your 1000, any chance you could pass that reciept on my way? :)

Phuz - You're right...I finally read the entire document. The replacement offered was either a new 890 or a refurbished 890.

I sent my defunct and non-working H1000 in a couple weeks ago and am expecting my replacement next week. It's a win win for me since I bought that remote off Craigslist for $100 almost 2 years ago.

Does any one happen to know when we should be receiving our new remotes? Is there a nubmer or email address we may contact to find out any information on the paper work we had to send in?

So is it true that they are going to disable your 1000 after they send the replacement? If so how do they go about doing so? I dont want my 1000 to be disabled its working prefectly fine, is there any way around this?

    No, that's false.

    They can't, impossible.

    Keep using your remote.

As of today I have yet to receive my replacement remote. No contact from Logitech. I hated that remote, it had a bug where it would max out the volume on my stereo, very annoying. Then there was a failure with the USB, I was no longer able to program it. I replaced with another remote and left it to collect dust.

It is unfortunate that they did not replace the remote with a like model. If anybody has any updates please let me know.

None of this surprises me. I bought a Harmony 800 a while back. It was very good while it worked, then began to fail to take a charge and started to get "confused" as to the sequence of equipment settings it was programmed to do.

All of this began just before the warranty expired and progressed to not taking a charge at all after warranty. It was took apart and tested in the charging cradle. Yep, power is getting to the board. Somewhere between there and the battery lays the fault.

Very disappointing for the money paid. No more Harmony remotes for me in the foreseeable future.

Same here, no replacement. I'm calling tomorrow to follow up in some way.

The 1000 simply didn't work as advertised.

Could never get the macro functions to do what Logitech said they would do for starters. It was horribly buggy software.

I just received my replacement 890 today after a long wait. It was new in the box, I was really surprised when I opened the package to also find a new Harmony RF wireless extender came along for the ride. I thought the deal was only for a 890, o'well it really made my day. And I also spoke to a rep about my 1000 being disabled after receiving the 890 and they stated that was false info that you'll still have full use of the 1000 after receiving the replacement 890. I feel like I've had a really good day thanks to all of this..... SCORE!
