Yeah, when I saw another post on this, the first thing that came to mind is "Here comes Directed Electronics..."

    I hope it does well.

Only saw this yesterday when the forums were down and I went directly to the polk site to see if it was down as well.

Hmmm it's at an interesting price point. It costs more than the games and more than what I paid for my entire guitar hero WT setup. A bit price I'd say.

    Hopefully it finds it place.

Hey, following market demand and looking for new product ideas drives funding for future LSi development!

It looks like they are at least trying to maintain a quality Polk image with the product. I just play GH through my HT system and crank it up man!

I don't know... GH is WAY more fun playing through a good sound system. I've played at my friends house through his TV and it was no fun at all. With my HT crankin you feel like part of the band. (GH VanHalen rocks by the way) This $99 self contained unit might pull some sales from people who don't want to spend $$$ on HT, but want to make GH more fun to play. Might hit a nice Christmas gift price point for some parents. Don't know...

I give Polk credit for thinking outside the box and creating a product for a market that is definitely high in demand. First at it so how long till Bose mimics it? lol I'd like to hear how it sounds but for $100 and the -10db response doesn't hold my expectations high. Oh well, I still think it's a great idea.

I want to like it since it's a Polk product, but I had to be honest with myself - if it was Bose or jbl or someone else offering this I'd be laughing my **** off and would be critical of the whole thing.

Again, this product just screams out Directed Electronics

Hey, be thankful your company of whose forum you participate in daily is still thriving and ensuring they stay competitive within the marketplace. If you read the industry rags you'll notice other audio related companies not doing as well.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I think this is a great idea!

I've played Guitar Hero at a lot of friends houses through TV speakers, and it's nowhere near as fun as on a good system.

I'm guessing that this will end up selling pretty well.

Maybe Polk can get together with some of the game companies and make a bundle with Rockband/Guitar Hero. I bet it would sell pretty well over the holiday season.

I like the old school logo. Reminds me of the REAL early ****...

I'm sure it's going to be spot on for what they want it to do. They do usually do it right....

Yep, looks like the emblem from their first set of speakers.

That's actually pretty cool. Looks neat, and assuming it sounds good at all (HAS to sound better than TV speakers), it'd create a real nice effect for GH!
