Well i was called downstairs for a little surprise, parents want to buy me a set of speakers for christmas. Only thing is they know that I should be the one to choose. So my limit is 500 bucks, I have a set of infinity 2000.5 towers right now. My newest receiver a pioneer elite I should have in about a week if I get the money together. That will put out 110 watts a channel. So I listen to a ton of music and if I am not listening to music in 2 channel I am watching a movie in surround. I was looking at the polk TSi400 but not sure. I have always been impressed with klipsch but polk is good as well. Please give me some guidance. Also they can be used.

I am not sure about the vintage stuff, I mean I do not want to hard them from hard bass or anything. I just want some opinions on what I should look at.

A pair of Monitor 70's on newegg for $400. I SERIOUSLY doubt that you'd be disappointed

Well considering I already have the monitor 40's for rears all I would need is the cs2 center and I would have the complete setup.

There wasnt much for Polk stuff near you but I looked and found some other great choices for you to look at, the 1st one is STEAL and if you didnt need the center you could sell it on ebay, or to me :) The second choice is also a STEAL, maybe even a better deal because you get 5 very good speakers and a really good sub too.

here is a list of links of some used stuff near you-

    http://reading.craigslist.org/ele/1434820970.html
    http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/ele/1419184250.html
    http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/ele/1437307438.html
    http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/ele/1437254917.html

If you have a chance at either the top 2 choices, jump all over them, you will not be disappointed!
Most of them only hear how loud it sounds, and the rest of us hear everything else -

The second craigslist add will give you far more performance than those 70s.

Plus then you can sell your existing stuff and use it to buy some amps. ;)

For some reason the east coast seems to be a used audio gear mecca!

how does that even make sense when most of audio manufacturers are in the west and mid?

the only places that have some decent used gears in east coast are NJ, PA and perhaps GA. I live in NYC and I'll be damned if I find some really quality audio gears here, new or used.

CA though, is the gold mine for used audio gears.

gtu2004, how does it matter where the manufacturers are located when I made a statement about USED audio gear?

You live in NYC and cannot find any NEW or USED audio gear(used in this text the word gear does not require an 's'), you must not be looking very well!

Although I do agree with you that CA does also have alot of used audio.
