Swap out R50s for LS50s?

A local Craiglist ad linked below offers a pair of cherry LS50s for $200. I have a pair of cherry R50s.
The LS50 is a better, though older, speaker. So, the question here is: Should I pursue the LS50s and sell off the R50s?

Thanks.

If they are in excellent condition I might be tempted because of the cherry finish. They are slightly overpriced. I love my LS90's and paid twice that but that included shipping. Had I been able to pick them up, I could have gotten them for $200. They are in excellent condition.
Maybe you could talk him down. I sure would get them and compare if I could get em any cheaper. I have no experience with the R50's but the LS50's are pretty well thought of.-Kevin

If I were you, I'd go for it. I've seen them much cheaper, but also sold many times at that price. They are a much better speaker than the R50s and easily worth the money.

Thanks for the advice.
I do hope to move up from R50s some day. I agree that the LS50s are better.
But, the Craigslist seller seems dialed into $175 and no lower. Just seems like if I'm gonna drop near $200, I mind as well just save a bit more and buy a slightly newer set of equal-quality speakers. Also, the LS50 shape is mildly unattractive to me.
In the end, I offered $100 for the LS50s (15 years old and cat-scratch damage). I ended up asking myself, is such a pair of speakers really worth $175?Marantz DV4001 CD and DVD

I'd personally pay $175 for them. You'll be able to get $100 out of your R50s. The sonic difference will be FAR beyond $75.
You'll have a hard time equaling the LS50 peformance level with $200 + a little bit more with a newer speaker.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.
