Festival 8

I figure most here aren't too interested in Phish but they are still relevant as they sell out and put on these massive festivals. Music aside a few things which make the band great.
This weekend another festival ensues this time bringing traditional halloween musical costume into the fold. If you haven't been you probably know someone who has been to one of these festivals.
This year
8 sets over 3 days including a full acoustic set on Sunday at noon with coffee and donuts for 50k+.
Completing a full album by another band as a "musical costume" - still TBD for this year but the elimination process can be seen here.
http://www.phish.com/festival8/halloween/
Previously done on Halloween:
Velvet underground - Loaded
Talking Heads - Remain in light
Pink Floyd - Dark Side
Beatles - White Album
Who's Quadrophenia
All sets to be broadcast on Sirius/XM
Local fully functioning radio station on the site of the event keeping everyone updated and informed and spinning great tunes while the band isn't on. They have been doing this since 1996 at Clifford ball.
It's hard to translate the importance of this and the impact the station leaves those in attendance. If you went to Coventry you remember "The Bunny" and needing more Cowbell.
These guys made some nights of the tour available to watch live at Cinemas around the country many years ago. The best time I ever had at a theater!
Not only can you get a CD when you walk away from these shows but if you prefer you can walk away with a flash drive. They sets are also available in FLAC format.
I'm not going since I did a bit of travelling for summer tour but Fall Tour w/ 3 Nights at MSG and 2 more in Albany calling I can wait.
Let the patchouli and grilled cheese jokes fly... (most probably don't apply now since the majority of us have careers and are in our 30s with families...) but have at it - or ignore this space completely! I'll be happy either way.

Damn, 13 years since the Clifford Ball.
Have fun, Albany should be a blast!Wristwatch--->Crisco -
Back in the late 1990s, I remember hearing about the Halloween shows and in particular The White Album performance. Is that available somewhere on one of those file-sharing websites? I'd be interested to hear it.
Last time I saw Phish was Sept. 2000, just after I moved out to L.A. If I'm not mistaken it was one of the last shows they played before "breaking up" for an indefinate period of time. I haven't kept up with them at all since, but they were a tremendously entertaining band to see in the 90s.
My favorite thing I saw them do was the 2001 Space Oddysey cover, "Thus Spake Zarathrustra" (I think thats the name). Jaw dropping good!2 Ch.

Pretty sure I still have my CDRs from that show and could burn you a copy.
Just pm me your address and I'll send them out. Not sure how great of a recording source this is - I don't recall. Alternately if you just put in bittorrent and phish halloween 1994 you should get a bunch of hits. I'm not a big fan of random torrent sites since they usually want you to pay a small fee and you might end up with junk anyways.
Additionally phish has the complete show from the soundboard in their store for $21.
There is still plenty of jaw dropping going on, even know. 2001 (Also sprach Zarathustra) can be a party all on it's own!
Cheers,

Nice to see some Phans in here!
I hit a few shows during their summer tour, and hope to hit MSG and Albany this fall. Would love to be out in Cali right now. Eagerly awaiting the album selection for tomorrow night. -
