I posted once before about using my Denon AVR-886 as a Pre/Pro and I'm in the market for a power amplifier to run my LSi25, LSiC, LSiFX that are enroute.

I've received wife approval for an Amp around $2k all in.

I've narrowed my choices after some internet sniffing homework to the Outlaw 7700 and the Sunfire TGA-7201.

I would appreciate the Polkie opinion on how the above amps either compliment or degrade my new speakers? If you have a better suggestion on brand/model please enlighten me.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

I've had an Outlaw Monoblock, & I have a Sunfire 5 channel 405wpc amp. Both brought out the best in my speakers. Both will do justice to your speakers. Pick whichever one floats your boat the most.

Your LSI's will love it. More speakers are damaged with too little power rather than too much. So long as you don't get crazy with the volume knob you will be fine. Your ears will give out before the speakers do.

The speakers will only take as much power as they need. But the power NEEDS to be there for them to take it when they need it. With an amp of 200wpc or more you know that the power is there for the speakers to access.

It's about making sure your speakers can operate to their full potential.

I have a Sunfire TGA-5400 (800w/ch @ 4 ohm) in an 11x12 room, with 4 LSi15s and a PSB Synchrony One center. Assuming you are not in an auditorium, the room size is irrelevent.

I'm 30 and have been married for 2 years, I don't understand this "wife approval". Do you guys need to ask for your testicles from your wife's purse every time you need to buy something? :)

I'm also 30 and have been married for 2 years. I ask her because I like getting laid. I could be an a$$ and just spend everything we've got on selfish hobbies but I don't. I guess that's just me and several others here.

    Good luck with your divorce.

    Nice answer Wetcoast.

The sore spot is having jerks like you show that you have very little respect or consideration for your wife & feel the need to ridicule real men who do.

Get lost. And I hope the wife takes you for all you have in the divorce.

+1 on asking the wife.. its one thing to spend $100 bucks on a small gadget but when you're talking a couple Grand always good to give the other half a heads up. When I purchased my set up, she said I don't care do what you feel we should get... but at least she was aware of it, as stated its about respect for your wife.
