So what are some really good Car Racing games for the PS3 platform. I will be getting Formula One Championship Edition and already have Gran Turismo 5. Thanks Folks.

I'm not sure I know the difference. It's for my son and he will have G25 to go with it. He likes racing against me, by himself and against the system as well.

Sweet! So you can just tie your G25 to turn to the left on it's own and leave it to it's own devices? :D

Well, I would probably do that, but I'm sure a 10 year would have fun. Agreed, perhaps a little boring. I would probably enjoy the F1 game better.

I'm not sure I know the difference.

Simulation tries to simulate real driving whereas arcade is pretty much point and shoot. In arcade the car goes where you point it to go. In simulation it might f.e. start sliding if you take a corner too fast or if you accelerate too fast out of the corner your wheels spin and the car gets out of control.

In short, simulation is much harder and arcade doesn't provide much driving challenge.

I would also recommend DiRT. I don't know how good DiRT2 will be or when it will be released.

I've been wondering what else is out there for simulation other than GT5 Prologue. Until GT5 comes out, GT5P has become pretty boring. Until I find a more fun simulator, I'm holding off buying a steering wheel.

Anybody know of a PS3 simulator that has Mid-Ohio as one of the tracks? Having driven that track, would be fun to drive on the PS3.

I used to live a couple hours away from Watkins Glenn and wasn't into the club racing at the time. Now I'm too far away to get there. I'll be going to Mid-O for a couple lapping days a year... that track is much fun and throws a lot at you.

Sorry for the derail... Any games with Mid-O and Watkins Glen in them?

It looks like they have big plans for GT5, if it is ever released..:( In the mean time, the price for the G25 keeps dropping.:D
It would be cool if they start adding new tracks in the PS store.

I did just buy GT for the PSP. Supposedly, the cars you acquire in this game will be transferable to GT5.

GRID for realism, and Burnout Paradise as a more arcade style racing game.

GRID is very fun. I am a big fan of the DiRT games as well.

Correction: You have the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (glorified demo). The full game isn't out yet, but it finally has cool crash damage!
