Surround speakers suggestions
I am in process of building a budget HT. I recently bought a pair of Moniter 70s for my front, CS20 for my center speaker and Onkyo TX-NR807. My budget is 500-800$ for surround speakers. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.:)

The matching speakers for your 70's are the monitor 30's or 40's. You could also use the OWM3's for surrounds as well. I had a pair of these and they did a good job for surrounds. They have 7 different mounting options so they will go just about anywhere.
A friend of mine has 40's for his rears and they sound great. Are you wanting 5.1 or 7.1? Either way 500-800$ is a large budget for surrounds in the monitor/TSI series. You should be able to get 2 sets of OWM3's for $200 (polk ebay) or even 2 sets of 40's for $300 (newegg). For those same prices you could get floor standing speakers all the way around as well, if you have the room.
I would save some of the $ for a good sub. Like I said 500-800$ is a lot of coin for surround speakers. Hope that helps.Front - RTiA5's
Rear - RTiA3's
Center - CSiA4
Sub - PSW110 -

Thanks for your input. I am planning for 7.1. Any advice on sub?
Thanks -
If you are planning on going 7.1, make sure you have the room for it. A well setup 5.1 will outperform a cramped 7.1 anyday. 7.1 systems are meant for somewhat larger rooms, and generally speaking won't give you much of a benifit unless you have the room to set it up well. I would recommend the Monitor 40's for your surrounds, and at $149.99 at Newegg that is well under your budget, lol. You could go with another set of Monitor 70's for your surrounds, but IMHO that would be overkill and again, it would ned to be setup properly to work best. I agree with the suggestion to get the 40's and spend the rest on a sub. Depending on your budget, and what you want it for (HT or 2 ch) you could get the PSW505 from Polk at around $249.99 from Newegg w/ free shipping. If you want something a little better, look into Epik, SVS, Velodyne, but keep in mind those tend to start around $500-$800. Good luck and keep us posted, sounds like you are well on your way to a solid HT. Welcome to Club Polk.
