Polk Audio VM30's
Hi All,
Have just currently purchased a Marantz NR1501 7.1 Channel A/V Reciever (ie. 50W x7 (20Hz - 20kHz, 0.08%)). Am currently looking at the VM series loudspeakers however, the "recommended amplifier power" of 20-225 W worries me.
Question: I really love the look and sound of the VM30's however, is a 50Wx7 receiver not enough to power these speakers properly? Should I still go for the VM's... or should I abandon that thought completely? Is there a better Polk option to go with my Marantz NR1501?
Thanks a million in advance. Cheers...

the Marantz may not power them to their full potential but they should be fine since the 50W is greater than the minimum 20 required.. just don't turn them up too loud and look at perhaps adding an external amp if the marantz has the preouts for it down the road.Main 2ch -

Currently exploring the following two options:
Option 1:
VM 30's for fronts, RM8's for center and rears, MicroPro 1000 sub.
Option 2:
RM95 surround package with a MicroPro 1000 sub.
Obviously, Option 1 is going to cost significantly more. Considering the receiver I'm using... should I "break the bank" and go for Option 1 or should I just do Option 2 for now and wait until I have the moola to invest in something like Option 1 with a new receiver?
In other words, am I really going to be sorry with not going Option 1 and settling with Option 2 or considering my receiver, will I even notice the difference?
FYI. The system will likely perform the following breakout of duties: 50% Television watching, 25% Video Games (PS3), 15% Music and 10% Movies.
