That's right my Iowa Hawkeyes are a perfect 8-0. :DNow I realize that they have had a few close ones but as long as you win who cares. They are now number 4 in the BCS standings and as long as they don't screw it up they should get a pretty good bowl game out of this which is great for the state and the university. I am lucky enough to go to a game next weekend, its only agianst Indiana but they seem to have a problem with the teams that they should beat so I hope its a blow out but the close games seem to be a better time. So here is to My IOWA HAWKEYS.

I'm a Buckeyes fan, but I don't think that the Bucks are good enough to make a really good bowl game this year and would definitely like to see what the Hawkeyes could do. Congrats.

They sure did pull that win out of their arse! I couldn't believe it. After such an amazing drive by the Spartans to take the lead, they turned around and gave up the loosing TD in the last 2 seconds. I'm a Spartan fan, so I was rooting against you, but congrats on your best start to the season ever.

Cincinnati has come a looooong way in the last couple of years. I remember their stadium was practically empty whenever Louisville played 'em on the road.
After listening to a lot of Cincy sports radio, I got the impression that their fan base (though small at the time) was quite loyal. It's good to see they're getting their due.

And if Iowa can get past Ohio St (not that much of a stretch), they should be lined up for a BCS bowl bid. Congrats.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Yep - I couldn't help but think what the downtown Iowa City bars were like after the last second win against Michigan State.

I was at the game long ago when Iowa was ranked #1 and Michigan was #2 and Iowa won on a last second field goal, 12-10 (although they'd had a good touchdown ruled out of bounds early in the game).

    Go Hawks!

says the guy who brings up an NFL team in a college football thread...

I'm actually surprised Texas didn't jump up to 2 based on how the Alabama game went this weekend.

Unless Texas blows it at Oklahoma State this weekend, which is going to be their hardest game left, I think we'll see them playing in the title game. The only question is, are they going to be playing Florida or Alabama. I don't know when the SEC Championship game is, but we'll find out then.

The current BCS system is a joke, but I think the competition in the SEC may have a hand in changing that.

Had season ticket benefits(ex GF) at the end of the Hayden Fry era.
Great fan base and lots of fun tailgating surrounding Kinnick Stadium.
Don't know how well the Hawkeyes would stand up to Texas right now though.
Too bad really cause I can not stand Mack Brown as a coach and would love to see him go down by the end of the season.

    GO HAWKS
