I have my ps3 hooked up to my reciever via the analog RCA cables, that's right I'm still 2 channel.

I have a low hum that I is audible in my speakers, especially when no sound is coming through the ps3 you can hear it. I have tried other inputs on the reciever and have tried a new cable and still have the hum.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next? I've thought about going with a new reciever and all that, but I'd have to spend a ton of money to get one that would also do 2 channel as well aa this HK.

I think you may have narrowed it down yourself. Sounds like a receiver problem. Could also be ground loop, are the power cables on the HK replaceable?

I have my ps3 hooked up to emotiva in the living room and the other day i popped on a BD and there was a hum all of a sudden.
I just moved the cables on the ps3 a little and it went away.
I'm thinking it's just time to replace the cables or another cable leaking signal into it but i could be wrong.

Did you try the new cables and maybe hold them away from other cables if possible? It could be another cable causing the issue.

I don't think it's a reciever issue because I've tried it on multiple inputs with the same results. I also have several other sources on the reciever with no issues.

I've replaced the cables. I'll have to try moving th around, but did that with the last set without success.

What happens when you try your other cd player with the H&K? Or use a digital connection?

The HK does not have any digital connections, it's a 2 channel only model. I've have my Toshiba HD DVD player, Sony SACD player, and Wii all hooked up to the same AVR and have no problems with those. I've tried the PS3 on every input and get the same results, so it's likely something with the PS3.
