Marantz sr6001, sr7001, or newer pioneer? To those more in the know than I

I need your help!
I am deciding between the above AV receivers. The Marantz are warrantied refurbished and cost $320 for the 6001 $499 for the 7001. The pioneer receivers I am considering are the 919, 1018, and 1019. I want to connect my 32", 2008 Sharp Aquos 1080p TV, Apple (for music library), Surroundbar50, RM1s, and Micropro 1000, and 1 or 2 addition sets of speakers in other rooms for music. I'm enjoy movies and music equally.
I am curious about whether the older Marantz hdmi 1.2V is such a downgrade from 1.3 (can I run a single HDMI to the TV?), whether Marantz inability to upscale to 1080p will make any difference given I'm running blu ray and have a 2008 TV, whether the 7001 has enough options to spend $170 over the 6001, whether any of the newer bells and whistles of the pioneer line are worth giving up the reputed sound quality of a marantz, and any other advice.
I need all the advice I can get as this is my first home theater. I'll even mail a $10 outback steakhouse gift card to the winner for "best advice". If several are equally helpful I'll draw straws.
Thanks for your time and help.
