DVD software

I was feeling like I was king of the world for a couple minutes there. I thought I was the most incredible person in the world. I finally figured out how to get a true DD or DTS signal to my receiver. The receiver recognized it and the appropriate lights lighted up. Man, I was one happy camper.
Then I played the damned thing. I popped in my T2 DVD, and when it played, the audio and video now skipped. Thanks alot. I am currently using PowerDVD XP 4.0. I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good DVD player software for me. I tried Windows Media Player, but that seems even more difficult to figure out. I need help. I am fairly sure its the software. My computer (including CPU, vid card, and sound card) is very capable and should not struggle at playing a DVD with digital audio. Any help? Thanks!

hey, PowerDVD4.0 is some of the better dvd software out there. i've never had your problem show up before.. i would suggest that you use a CD laser lens cleaner on your dvd drive and also check the T2 disc itself. I found while watching Star Wars ATOTC yesterday it skipped in a few place.. the lens was dirty.. cleaned it with a memorex "laser" (ha ha ha) lens cleaner. and everything is good again.
good luck, AlPolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Al,
Thanks for the suggestion. I checked the disc and it is perfectly clean. I am very careful with my DVD's. I also tried with a couple other DVD's and I get the same result. I updated my sound card drivers, and thats not either.
