Sound quality? Proper location is required to obtain a good sound stage and imaging with any stereo speaker setup. It is probably the most important part of proper system set-up. Distance between speakers must be set for a proper center image & soundstage. This will depend on how far your listening position is from the speakers. There are test disks that can be used to determine proper location of the speakers. The best test to find proper speaker location I have found is on a CD: Best of Chesky Jazz & More Audiophile Tests Vol. 2. It contains a test of a sound which seems to travel around the outer edges of the room in a circle. You move the speakers until you hear the sound "travel" properly. I could notice a difference when a speaker (SDA's) was moved 1/4" or less. - In another thread I mistakenly stated this was a "clicker test" and may be on a Stereophile CD. I am getting forgetful as I get older and not used the disk in about 15 years or more. The "clicker test" is for soundstage depth.
