I have had the sda's goin on four days now have spent a lot of time listening to them,I know there is no sda effect.I tested them like the polk manual explains by using balance, negative on both sides, but man they still sound gooood.Anywho gonna get some time today and check things out,Im guessing that my problem is in the xovers,or the ic cable.Anything specific to look for?I have the ohm test sheet from another thread as well

    Hello,
One possible answer is that you have a pin/blade version of the SDA series and are using a non-common ground amplifier. That would result in no sound from the SDA components.

I do believe other bad things would be heard if the power source was not common ground. Maybe you have something out of phase or a wire off/loose somewhere. I'd dive into the cabinet and investigate.

    Hello,
The pin/blade version of the SDA speakers resulted in no damage or bad sounds, just no SDA. The earlier twin/blade version of the speakers would have shorted out a non-common ground amplifier, but not the pin/blade versions.
    Cheers, Ken

Keith,, have you checked the cable for continuity?.If the cable checks out,I'm guessing that you have a crossover issue. Call or shoot Ben a pm,, he's at home, and may be able to get you going quickly. Good luck and keep us posted.

Try a different SDA cable. Make sure that the speakers are in phase by checking the polarity of your speaker to amp wires. The one wire I got with mine had the connector colors reversed. (Red to black, black to red.) Don't assume they are correct by the connector color. Use the simple SDA test in the sticky section. If this all fails there is something wrong inside.

Snoop around inside the cab, I had a problem with my original sda srs's with blade/blade IC and one of the female terminals had come loose, pushed right out of the receptical and was laying inside the cab

Thanx for all your reply's fellas.I got time to check everything out today, from wires inside to the resistance test, everything passed. So I ended up disconnecting the negative speaker wires again and started wigglin the ic plugs and found out I have very loose ic sockets, rigged them up and everything is workin nicely.I do need to replace the sockets in the very near future. Can I buy them,or will I have to make em?
    Thanx again!
