Guess not.

I used to have a 12" momo, great sub. I used to be real heavy into car audio but focus more now on home as gas cost to much to be driving around, but still have systems in both vehicles.

If you have a really good system in your ride, its like having a great pair of headphones on very detailed . Sometimes i have to get away from the nagging and listin to the tunes. The polk momo series equipment properly tuned in your ride is a great sound fix.

What is a car audiophile? I remember reading when the owner of the Nakamichi Corporation was asked why he did not have one of his sound systems in his limousine, he replied the car was not good enough for one of his systems!Mains; SDA 1.2TL Silk Domes, upgraded xover, biamped w/DBX BX1 200wpc

Yeah. We exist. Just on a different forum for the most. A few of us post here. And yes we take it seriously. Using some pretty good gear too. But I can tell you this much. If you are using 3 sets of speakers in your ride you aint heard nuthin yet. Try and design an active 2 or 3 way front stage only with a sub system filling in the lows. By mounting the drivers in the proper locations, setting the Time Aliagnment, EQ and gains properly you can have a soundstage that will rival most home stereo systems. You can have a soundstage that appears to be above the dash and as far forward as the hood. I have a simple system in my truck right now that blows most people away and I'm not using the gear I plan on using for competition next year. See the diagram below for what I'm using now. Keep in mind this is nothing like the gear I'm assembling for next year's set-up. And most of us DO NOT use a rear stage speaker system. Everything is up front.
The amps are under the seats, the Fosgate 3sixty.2 processor and Hertz passive crossovers are located under the console in another storage area below the console, the tweeters are mounted on the A Pillars in custom made mounting pods, the midranges are in the dash far forward, the midbass drivers are located in the doors in the factory locations and the subs are in a Thunderform box under the rear seats using the 10" subs. I have absolutely no EQ processing at the moment, all settings are flat and most people are very impressed. Just wait until I set it up properly. That only takes a few weeks of tuning. Here are a few pictures of the current set-up. I don't have any pics of the finished tweeter pods or the Hertz HD500 midrange drivers installed.

I stand corrected .great system . Mind is in a extented s.10 truck only so much space ,wish i could hear your system its got to sound great. I have lots of home audio gear that i think sounds good. All new polk audio ls system but i really enjoy the sound in my truck. Yes much smaller sound stages but what most people are trying to hear from there home systems ,is so easlier to reach in car audio with a good set-up.
