2.3TL Cloth Replacement

I have now gotten past the operational issues of my newly aquired speakers. Now it is tme to replace the cloth on the sides of my two kitty scratching posts. Where is a good place to buy speaker cloth? I see that the cloth is glued on. What kind of glue should I use, it must be a really fast setting glue. Are there any tricks to keeping the grain of the cloth straight? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Jim

If you have a Jo Ann's fabric they have grill cloth and you can use whatever you want for the sides, thicker more non transparent works good, but make sure you use actual grill cloth for the grills as it is acoustically transparent. If you do not have a Jo Ann's parts express has grill cloth that works fine. A good flat table and some quick setting glue are needed to do the grills and sides. glue one long side and let it dry for a few minutes before stretching and gluing the other side, don't worry about it being straight as you will trim excess after drying with a straight edge and a utility knife and leave 3 or so inches on the corners unglued as you will need to leave plenty of room to stretch for a nice fit. other than that its just trial and error.

I went to Jo Ann's fabric and looked at the only roll of speaker cloth that they had and the texture was like thin woven t-shirt cloth. Doesn't match at all and looks cheap. Has anyone bought cloth from FleaBay? There seems to be some good prices there. Thanks!

Maybe try a place like this:

I'm sure there are others if you do a search.
Maybe you could snip off a sample and send to them, asking them to send back samples of their best match. That way you know for sure what you're getting. -
Darqueknight has an old thread on SDA-1C upgrades, one was grill cloth.
I found 1Cs sounded better with the grill off the 194s sounded better. The heavier grill cloth worked fine with the SL2000 but too heavy for 194s IMO.
