I would have to kill myself.

Nothing crazy but Ron swears by the AS-EQ1 and I'm going to try one out....that's all. I didn't really care if this sold anyways. I'm told I won't care about a PB13 "upgrade" after this piece works its magic.

The only experience I have with Velo is either vintage, HGS or a couple DD series. Velodyne used to be the bar standard in my world a decade ago but I'm on my 5th SVS and have no plans to change anything. The Velodyne just didn't hit as hard as the SVS but keep in mind I never did a H2H....those comments are just based on my memory.

The only subwoofer that I've liked more than the various SVS so far has been the REL T series. It's a really nice subwoofer for musical applications, not HT, and seamlessly blended well with a handful of different loudspeakers I was playing with at the time. It's quick and very tight.

Since then I have steered more towards a smaller, less low end brutal subwoofer for music and a more obnoxiously angry subwoofer for HT.

If the AS-EQ1 does for your SVS what MultEQ XT did for my 20-39CS+, I can't wait to read about it. I actually ditched the ART-351 EQ I was using on mine because Audyssey did such a great job of taming my room-induced peaks.
    Equipment list:

    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
    Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
    DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
    Epson 8500UB 1080p projector
Elite Screens Sable 120" CineWhite screen

Ron has been raging about it for awhile but I just never committed. He stated that if I didn't like it, I can punch him in the belly at CES next year. That's a helluva challenge in my book :)

Now you have me even more excited KS.

I'll go ahead and warn you... After the EQ'ing, there's a bit of a shock at the way it sounds because you're not used to it, even if you were doing some equalization before like I was. Give yourself a little time with it post-equalization to see how it performs with material you're used to hearing. When I first experienced MultEQ's equalization of my sub, my first impression was that there was suddenly too much mid-bass. Then I looked back at my old EQ charts and realized that I was just thinking that because Audyssey had managed to fix a bit of cancellation between my mains and subwoofer around 65Hz.

The best way I can describe it is "brutal". That sucker now gives me musical bass when called for, but the punch-in-the-chest bass with the right movie soundtrack. Considering the AS-EQ1 has higher filter resolution than MultEQ XT does, I think you're gonna be happy with the results.

I'm expecting that KS but I'm sure it will still cause me some mental adjustment. I was using some basic room correction when I was running the B&K. That really helped compared to when I just went plug and play with the subwoofer ages ago.

It sounds like you're dialed in pretty good and I'd love to hear it. Thanks for the well wishes. I'm off to wax my subwoofer and dig out some cables :D
