Hopefully after Tuesday (10/27/2009) my days of unemployment will come to an end. I have my interview at FedEX Ground as a driver and the women told me that if all goes well with the interview just to make sure I leave the rest of the week open. I have some other potential job interviews (Boeing, CTI) coming on the horizon but as of right now, gonna take what I can get. Keep your fingers crossed and as soon as I hear something I'll let you guys know.

Best of luck. I hope you find not only a job...but a job that you want.

Congrats. I'm sure it's better than the $300+/ week that unemployment taps out at.

Good luck, man. A job is a job and at this point, if you can get one, take it. You can always find a new one later.

A buddy of mine has been unemployed for over a year. He's got an interview with a small repair shop on Monday. Hoping he gets it.

Good luck with it. In this economy, if I were an employer looking at applicants, I would look favorably on one who was competent and took a survival job vs one who drew unemployment for a long period. Shows a lot of character and dependabilty. +1

Well, what a disappointment that was. Went to my interview with FedEX ground today, seasonal drivers only make $7.62 an hour, I'm making more sitting at home then I would if I went to work with FedEX Ground or Home Delivery. I was really hoping something was gonna pan out but all of the guys that run the routes own their routes. So as much as many of you guys hate the BIG Brown, I applied there today as a driver helper with the potential for a full-time position. My interview is on Nov. 3 which works out great cause my visit with Sherard will be over by then so just keep your fingers crossed, I'll take care of your packages.:D

Take into account how much longer you are eligible for unemployment benefits. Might have to take something like this just to get your foot in the door. Good luck!! Damn 7.62?? That's crazy.

Well, start orientation Tuesday and begin my UPS career. Right now it's seasonal work to get through the holidays with the potential to go full-time. Just keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to prove I'm a worthy candidate to stay on full-time so I can be done with this unemployment crap.
