A good friend of my daughter passed away last night. He was a young man of 27 years old. He was a very intelligent person and a wonderful talent who performed at with an elite group of singers throughout college. In 2006, only a couple of months after graduating from college with highest honors, landing a great job and beginning his adult life, Andrew was diagnosed with cancer. He fought for over three years through extensive chemo, radiation, bone marrow transplant, etc...but he lost his fight last night. I only met him once, but he seemed to be one of the nicest young men I have ever met. Everyone who I've talked to that knew him felt the same. Throughout this ordeal, he never complained, he never blamed and he never gave up hope. He was upbeat and an inspiration to those around him when they were anguishing more about his condition than he was. He happened to be a very devout Christian and never lost his faith. He was truly one of those individuals whose life touched all those around him in a positive manner...even to the very end.

Please remember Andrew's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. He is no longer suffering...but all those who knew and loved him will suffer the loss for quite some time to come. I know my daughter has not stopped crying since she got the call last night.

Rest In Peace Andrew.

Thanks.

My prayer and my thought for Andrew tonight.

My brother-in-laws , Vicente Mier who has been married to my sister for 30 years was diagnosed with liver cancer 6 months ago. He was a God-fearing man and a devout Christian all his life.

I pray for my brother-in-laws every night before bed time. Tonight, my prayer will included Andrew eventhough I have never met the young man but I heart goes out for Andrew and his family.

"God grant us the serenity to accept the things that we cannot change; Courage to change the things we can and Wisdom to know the difference...Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your way acknowledge him and his will direct your path, Amen"

Andrew’s body was laid to rest yesterday. There was a memorial on Sat. celebrating his life that was more like a great "going away party” with lots of the musicians who he performed with playing the music he loved. Thanks to a digital video, he performed for the attendees one last time and there was not a dry eye in the church.

I would like to thank each of you who responded and all those who said a prayer for the family and friends
