Hello, I just complete my HT system. Now I have a Onkyo TX-SR607, 4 units of RTI8, 1 -csi5 and a PSW505 subwoofer.

What hz should I put for them?

When I use my Onkyo TX-SR607 to calibrate the sound. It gives Full band for Front and center, 40hz for surround.

What are those 40hz ,80hz , full band mean? Should I put full band for front?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello, My Onkyo TX-SR607 doesn't have small, it has hz to 200hz and full band.

What does small mean? How to set speakers only use high hz but not using low hz?

Go into the speaker set up menu on your Onkyo, that's where you can select small or large for speakers.
Because you're using a sub you want to set the RTI8s and CSi5 to small. FYI, it doesn't have anything to do with the physical size of the speakers.

Hello, I really don't see there's option where I can select Small or large for the speakers in the speakers settings. It only shows hz.

I really enjoy my HT system. I just watch Drag me to hell and it scared the hell out of me and my bro. We love it so much although the movie doesn't have much meaning just super scary with 5.1 Polk sounds :) Love Polk!

I just ordered a CSi 5 to use with my RM speakers (left from my functionally obsolete RMDS 1 system, a $2700 theater in a box system) Will my new CSi 5 center channel speaker work well with my old Polk RM speakers?

My old center channel had a blown tweeter, leading me to replace rather than repair it. This is the 2nd of the 5 speakers to fail, and there is some question if 1 or more of the others are failing too.

What would be a good choice for new left and right speaker to blend with the CSi 5? If I replace the left and right, I am hopeful the current RM speakers will be OK for my two rear speakers.

What are your thoughts and opinions on how I should proceed.

Recently purchased an Onkyo 807 A/V receiver and Hsu VTF-2 MK3

Not to get off topic, but to answer Mac2403's question. You will want to find something from the Rti line. Rti8, Rti10, and Rti12 are floorstanders that would match the CSI5 perfectly. Rti4 and Rti6 are bookshelfs that would match you center. If you can't find any of those, try the current RtiA line.

    mac2403,

I just recently bought the Rti8s from Polk Direct, which set me back about $400 (shipping, handling, and tax included). They're refurbished, but they sound and look great...as if they were brand new. You can get the new Rti8s, which are the Rti A9s, for double the price if you got the dough.

I have the Onyko 607 and they match the Rti8s, in addition to the CSi3, Rti4s, and PSW, rather nicely. Like previous Polkies have expressed, stick with the Rti line, especially if you already have an Rti center. Keep it flush, and I'm sure you'll be happy. With this being said, I'm sure the RMs in the rear will be just fine.

    mac2403,

Sent you a PM, but not sure if PM is working. I have a pair of Cherry RTI10 speakers available for sale. They have never been used and only taken out of box to take pictures. They are back in their original boxes and packaging.

Many thanxx for all your input on my first post here. As I just bought the Onkyo 807 and a new HSU sub and the CSi 5 center channel, I decided on the RTi 12 towers due to a great price as a close-out model. I will use my old RM satellite speakers left from my RMDS-1 system for the rear surrounds and for height speakers the new Onkyo supports.

Chad Billheimer will be here next week to do an ISF calibration on my 60" Sony SXRD HDTV. He is also an expert at audio too, so I will have him do the final set-up and equalization on my new surround system.

I have been a serious audio hobbyist since my early thirties and I still have enthusiasm for all things audio and video today as I near my 79th birthday.
