Keeping it in perspective

I sit here at this computer, next to the subwoofer I've built over the past month or so.. there are several threads on these forums where I've sought advice.. or posted graphs... worried and frustrated...

Upstairs my 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son sleep with my beautiful wife....

And across this country.. kids miss their fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters... far away, at war.. they hear of U.S. soldiers killed in action, taken prisoner, missing...

And I worry about a null at 50Hz?? Shame on me. God bless those soldiers.. their families.. help them when they hear that their loved one has been killed or is missing... Bring these soldiers home to their families so that they too put their children to bed in person....

I watched part of 48 Hours on CBS tonight.. and cried. If the worst of my worries is some aspect of my audio system, or that we spent more at the grocery store last month than we 'should' have... I'm truly blessed... all of us here are... think about what you have and be thankful... and keep it all in perspective.

Godspeed to each you on the journey you're on... may you have many years to enjoy your families.. and they you.

Those are the kind of words that need to said, again and again, with FIERCE conviction.

I've nothing to add, you said it all.

    burdette,

What you say is oh so true. It is because of those brave soldiers at war in Iraq and all of those who have gone before them and lost their lives for our freedom that we take for granted.

It took 9/11 to shake us all up that our freedom is a privelege and that someone could actually come into our country and try to challenge that.

A lot of people are against the war, but 75% of americans including myself can see through the smoke and know that its for a good reason. Freedom. We must rid the world of the tyrant.

And yes, like you, I am blessed to have what I have. And like your 50 hz, which sounds better Studio 40's or LSi 9's which seems to have obsessed my life here lately, is rather insignificant compared to the parents out there not knowing if their son or daughter will come home safely. God bless them and God bless the USA.

    Proud to be an American,
    Paul

I also have to say this is one that was definitely worth reading. It hit close to home tonight, when on the news, I learned that a friend of mine is MIA. Known him for years, sat next to him at high school graduation last year, the last day before we were out in "The real world". He shipped not too long ago, and then I watched this tonight.
My prayers are with you, Patrick O'Day. Heres to hoping you come home safe and all is well.

    Burdette,
thanks for reminding us what really is important in life.. this being life itself. The lives of us and others.

I hope this war ends soon. and those brave men and women can come home to their loved ones safe and sound.

I'll keep them in my thoughts and prayers for their safe return.
