I just rented Transformers 2 and couldn't finish it. Worst movie I've seen in years...

and I LOVE excessive explosions. I don't understand how it is so bad.

This is a movie for action fans...no one is going to win awards for story or acting here...it's just fun and a lot of boom, boom, boom. Forget your brain and enjoy the ride...can't 'think' during this or else you won't like it!

That said. I did think the first one was a bit more coherent.

But I'd watch III when it comes out.

The best, and ONLY real Transformers movie, WAS Transformers: The Movie. (The animated 80's movie).

I saw the first Transformers and while I didnt hate it, it wasn't Transformers. It was Shia Labouf, his girlfriends, and a bunch of robots.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

I read about trnz3 in maxim magazine a few months ago but I think its safe to say we will have a trnz5 .

I love the big lavish backdrops and stunning visuals they employ in these movies . Tonight I rented it on bluray and began to watch it on the 50" lcd and couldn't enjoy it so I cranked up the pj and man .... great experience . The fact is you need at least 80" to fully get the most out of trnz 2

Don't know about that 80" business, lol. I watched it on my tiny 60" and it looked just fine to me, lol. Not the best movie in the world, but the visuals and the audio made this one of my best Blu-Ray rentals yet.

I think you need a good 120" +++ screen to enjoy this movie fully. I still enjoy it on my measly 50" TV - but man I was absolutely blown away at the theater.

I dont understand how this movie is not coherent. It flows pretty good.

Ill watch Transformers 45 --- as long as there are big **** robots blowing **** up. Im there.

It shouldn't depend why. It's a personal choice. Nobody else gets to judge that.

But no. I'm not vegan. I tend to learn more towards carnivore than omnivore.

I just find "cow pus" amusing. I can't stomach it, though.

    I

    ^This.

I happen to like trippy robot fights, baysplosions, and Megan Fox. Put them all together, and there we go!

Hopefully the movie in question will continue that trend. ;)

Honestly, i thought it was going to be like a food fight, but substituting cats in place of food. Your question is just strange and confusing to me.

The only time I find it annoying is when people claim it's for moral reasons, BECAUSE a) I had faulty logic, and b) they try to cram it down YOUR throat (see PETA protests, etc).

Sorry for the threadjack. On the original topic, a movie needs more than explosions, evne for people who like explosions. If you go into the movie just hoping to see explosions and nothing else, why not just watch the first movie over and over again? Obviously you want something different, at least some semblance of a story. It doesn't need to be Citizen Kane, it's a summer blockbuster popcorn flick, but sometimes they're just completely devoid of a cohesive story and it makes it less fun to watch. Boring, even, which seems counterintuitive with **** blowing up every 9 seconds, but 2 hours of fireworks isn't a movie.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

By those criteris almost all Hollywood films are NOT movies! Or should I say FILMS...the more cultured word. I can't agree, I like to watch mindless movies every so often but the American cinema produces few real 'films'.

In the end...it doesn't much matter...Americans prefer to be entertained. I've seen people walk out of some of the BEST films ever made because they found them boring or couldn't understand what was going on.

    Transformers...just a 'movie' maybe....not a 'film'. But that's OK!

I just find it ironic that nearly every other thread on Club Polk is some form of righteous indignation concerning the apparent collective stupidity of the masses. Yet movies such as Transformers are nearly universally embraced here with a resounding rally cry of "leave your brains at the door, so that you may be entertained".

Really? Seems like a double-standard to me.
