So I went to Pizza Hut today...

... for the lunch buffet. I sat down in the booth with a plate of pizza and looked up... couldn't believe my eyes. They had three pairs of vintage Polk Monitors hanging up by the ceiling! I'm not sure if they were Monitor 5, but I was suprised. The lunch wasn't too bad, either.

Thought I'd share as it kinda made my day.

I tried their new Pasta offering and will admit, it's pretty good for what it is. Sure it won't touch mom and pop stuff or the stuff you could probably do much better at home, but for on the go stuff its great.

I've been there, and through there a few times in the last year. I'll keep it in mind. Going to Bartlesville Friday, but it's really not on the way.

As much as I hate to admit it, I have had it and thought it was pretty darn good too. I make my own homemade spaghetti sauce and lasagna, but it was surprisingly good for Pizza Hut pasta.

Northern NJ, and NYC. have the best bread and pizza anywhere. It's the water. We also have damn good Chinese food.

Our local Hut has Atriums mounted around the eating area. They sound pretty sweet :). Run off a jukebox of some kind, last time I was there. I haven't been in for quite a while, so they might've changed it by now.

Ok, I'm sure we'll have a turf war on this but I agree with Jimmy....grew up in Eastern Pa on the border with N.J. Went to Grad School in NYC....great pizza, good Chinese (but remember I am actually in China writing this so there is a proviso). We have Pizza Huts in Beijing....have not yet been to one. But the best Pizza here is a place called the Crow's Nest..some American who decided to start making Pizza here. And it's better than you would expect for China!!

Not sure if they have pasta in the Huts here! But after two months I'm starting to have a 'few' cravings!

Actually I am from Ct. and I would have to argue that Ct. would be a close second to NY in the pizza department. Nothing like going to Little Italy on Franklin Ave. after a good night out and getting a few slices. I have been back home 3 times in the past 10 or so years and the first thing on my list is going to Pauls Pizza in Rockville Ct and getting some real pizza. If my friends back home knew I ate at Pizza Hut, they would be on the first plane out here to kill me, lol.

Me too. Grinders and great pizza's are all around at little mom and pops. A lot of people down south think Papa John's can make a pie:confused:

I feel for you Ben, It amazes me how some people think Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, and Domino's has good Pizza. I've been a pzza connisour ever since I could ride my Schwinn 10 speed over to Sal's pizzeria. Sal couldn't speak good english, but man he made a GREAT pie.

cnh, if your having cravings for pizza, try a DIGIORNO frozen pizza, they're not too bad as frozen pizza goes, it might quell the craving for awhile.

Great to see you posting again.

It's not delivery...... it's Digiorno, lol. Best pizza I have had out here on the "Left Coast" has been Rocky Rococo's. They seem to be all over in WI, one in Kentucky and one here in Spokane WA. according to their website. Other than that Papa Murphy's will do in a pinch.

We have Louisiana Pizza Kitchen here and you can't beat it for thin crust quality pizza done in a wood-fired oven. We have real shrimp down here.

In the town I grew up in (in Louisiana) there was a family-style chain (maybe it really was family owned) of pizzarias called "Johnny's Pizza".

Holy ****, that was good pizza. The normal pizzas were the best deep-dish outside of Chicago that I've ever had. But then they had these oddly-named specialty pizzas that really took the prize!

"Sweep-the-Kitchen" was a supreme, but with everything. I mean like a 30 topping serious pie.

"Sweep-the-Swamp" was a cajun-style pizza; a little spicier sauce, mud-bugs, shrimp and a boudin-styled sausage on it. Damn, I miss that.

I got to enjoy that while I was in high school. I love me some Johnny's Pizza. We actually discovered that it was best slightly warm to almost room temperature to give it that "second day pizza" feel. We would literally order them early so we could let them sit out and cool off. Not only that but I loved that they cut the pieces into strips. I hate getting this hungry a couple of hours before lunch.

There's a place around here called "Jack's Pizza."

That right there should already set off alarm bells.

It's like.... lackluster pizza toppings on a huge cracker. You ordered sausage? Enjoy your ground up sausage MEAL crap put directly over the sauce, under the chease, trapping all the grease below the cheese. Disgusting.

Bacon? Same thing... looks like it's been food processed and just thrown on wherever. They smother it in cheese in hopes that you don't notice the abomination that's below.

I'll order it this weekend and take pictures for your guys. This is like, the HIGHEST RATED pizza place around here, and it makes me emotionally unstable just thinking about it.

Yeah, there is a place here called Rosa's Pizza that hides the toppings under the cheese too. First (and only) time I ordered from them I opened it up and was like WTF, where is my pepperoni and sausage?? Upon further review I found it under the cheese, ewwwww.

Sounds like you found a great business to start!

You have a Macaroni Grille there don't you? It's not 'really good' pizza, but it's handmade dough, hand rolled (they don't pay enough for 'hand-tossed') and wood fired fresh, so already it's better than that ****.

They only have a few options on the menu, but you can totally request whatever you want on there.

They're two on the north side. I haven't tried them, though.

Seriously... i wish i had the money to actually start a business. A good old fashioned New York pizza joint would make a KILLING here.

Well, probably not. The people here are convinced that Jack's is good pizza, so they'd probably hate real pizza.

I got a couple good dough recipes... One uses a bit of honey instead of sugar to help activate the yeast. It gives the dough a 'warm' flavor, but it calls for so little honey that it doesn't sweeten it... Really nice, thick crust, just pliable enough to give you a good chew without being 'chewy'...
