I have listened to a pair that Bob built/gave away at Carverfest 08--built so that the output tubes will give the owner many years of listening pleasure before having to re-tube.YMMV> :)

Why can't he mirror them or make them symmetrical? Looking at them in my rig in that configuration would drive me crazy.

I want a set of these over any other amp I've heard. I had the pleasure of driving my ALS Plats with a pair of these blocks, and the result was simply amazing (pun intended). I have never heard such lifelike reproduction out of any other rig at any cost. I'm sure there are some out there that could match the sound, but I haven't heard them. What I would really like to do is bi-amp my Plats with my 9t's on the woofers and a set of Bob's tube blocks on the ribbons. If you can afford these blocks (and I can't right now dammit or they would be mine) they are an outstanding value for what the last three sets I've seen on e-prey went for.
