RT1000p - New Lease On Life

Well, a polkie donated a pair of RT1000p cabinets to me this evening. They had previously been stripped of damn near everything in them. There are some wires floating about inside, and some cobwebs, but that's it.
There was a lot cosmetically wrong with these guys and I'd have gutted them too, I think.
One "foot" is missing, a couple strips of veneer is missing from the backs, a cat scratched up some fabric on the covers and it appeared as though some wild beast with claws of steel let out it's anger on that crazy rubber finish on the front panels.
I don't have the budget to restore these back to their previous glory. It would be more money than they pair are worth... About double from what I've seen them sell for, but when buying replacement parts one at a time, Polk's CS is still giving a fair shake, for sure, so I'm not complaining about that. Ken is actually one of the fastest email responders I've dealt with! Thanks again!
That shout out to Ken and Polk's awesome customer service said, I'm not terribly sure just what I'm going to do with these things.
My first thought is to clean them up and get the cabinets looking nice. Once that is done, I'll start putting serious thought into these (and not serious coin).
Due to the horrid state of those rubber fronts, I removed them as soon as they came in from my car... Protip for anyone interested in removing that stuff: it peels off. I had to cut a trim line behind the bevel, where the front attaches to the sides, and then just slowly start peeling the rubber back; it might tear, but it's easy to get started again.
Anyway, wish me luck and feel free to drop suggestions, afterall, since this is my first ever audio project, I'll not be shy asking a **** ton of questions!
Thanks in advance!

Too late for 'before' pics, really...
I already ripped off that rubberized junk and cleaning the plastic subwoofer diffuser stand things.
I'm going to attempt to remove whats left of the tweeters (just the domes and caps) and clean the black plastic driver cover....

Here are the front and side views of the night I stripped the rubber off of the front. You can see there are a few dings in the veneer as well. They don't bother me too much, but I'll touch them up.
I've removed the bases and cleaned them and have taped around the edges of the cab to prep for painting since these pics.
Since I don't have the logo (where the little LED light is on rt1000's), I was thinking of just filling the hole and prepping it for paint as it is. Not too sure right now, but it seems likely.

Started filling in the large hole from the LED/Logo last night along with the screw-holes on either side. I used a dowel rod and some sandable plastic putty that requires several applications to set well enough to hold.
I'm still shopping for parts while i'm doing this; thanks to everyone who is helping me out with this. Does anyone know if the SL6001 tweets fit the speaker frame for this model? Polk currently only carries the RTXXXXi tweets only and hey are... more expensive than my budget allows.

He said cheap though...
You can pick up two cans of truck bed liner for like 16 bucks! Piano gloss black will cost alot more than that...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
I would do all the prep and prime work and take them to a body shop to be painted... I had my LSi-15 shot on the cheap as I waited for them until they had to shoot a black car.The Gear...
