I just bought 4 rti38's. they are like 20 pounds each and measure like 15high 8 wide and 12 deep. I need to get 2 stands for the front which are 24 inches high and 2 stands for the rears. The front there are alot of options. I am stumped on the rears.
1. how high should they be. i have seen up to 42 inches.
2. any brands out there that are good.
3. I saw a bello 36inch that is all metal and says it can hold up to 100 pounds.
Any suggestions......or let me know if you have something that works. I cannot mount them on a wall because there is no rear wall.... thanks in advance

Its always nice to have them elevated for the rears (above ear level). Besides going with stands, have you thought about building some wall shelves or wall mounting?Home Speakers polkaudio RTi70's (bi-wired), CSi30, FX3000i, PSW250

I think standard surround sound theory supports the placement of rears, higher than your listening position. So taller for the rear speakers would be my recommendation.

I wish I could wall mount them. but there is no wall behind our listening area.....The best I can do is get some 36inch stands with the 15 inch speakers they should be around 51 inches. that is as high as I think stands will go. I am looking for some stands that can support the rti38s and their 20 pounds. thanks

I just finished some DIY stands based on this design. The great thing about DIY is you can make them look any way you want. Since you have height concerns you can make them as tall as you want as long as you make the center of gravity low enough...

Mine are a little different and are VERY solid! if you want to go a cheaper route use MDF for the tops and bottoms. Or change the PVC diameter for more stability. I used two 4" PVC columns on my design
