My truck broke down tonight, I've had a death in the family for the first time in 27 years, my wife is unemployed and there's a lot more not happening right now.

    Life is suck.

The one thing that's keeping me going is my wife and my son. I thank the powers that be for that. Polk brethren, I need your prayers.

    Treitz,

    I think I can relate a little.

Last year was one of the worst years of my life. I almost died in a car accident. I lost my job as a result and it almost wiped me out financially. I never thought I'd get through it but I did. I am so lucky to be walking around that every day above ground is amazing to me.

I believe things happen for a reason. I've never been happier in my life. It can and will get better.

You are fortunate to have your family close to you (a blessing I am without). Hang in there!

Believe it or not, I found a great outlet here at this forum. It helped me get through some of the hardest times. No BS.

    Chin up! Be well.

    David.

Yeah, my left eye is the one that is the worst of the two. Can still see decent out of the right, but it's only a matter of time. My mom had it and has had both of her corneas transplanted, including one just a few weeks ago. Got an appt. with my surgeon today after work to discuss my "options" so hopefully it will go well. Thanks for the well wishes.

    Treitz, Jeff,

I feel for you...and everyone else...man I've been having my share of ups and downs...2 months to find a way to get back on line from China. You know they block this site over here? Or at least they have me tied up.

I also lost both parents in the last 15 months and managed to develop some serious skin allergies for about a month here in Beijing...the guys are right..life doesn't always deal you a good hand but in the end, if you hang in there you'll be OK...my thoughts are with all of you because I don't really know 'how' long I'll be able to use this method of posting?

Better times are coming! That's what the Austrian owner of the Manhattan bar used to tell us in Pa.? He'd lived through the Great Depression so I guess he knows something!

    All my best...

well, most of you probably read my thread on my MRSA adventure.

while I am feeling much better, I am still on IV antibiotics a home......I just got the results of an MRI back, while the muscle in my lower back is cleared....there is still inflammation showing in the SI joint (connects the pelvis to the spine). this makes sense as it feels irritated and makes anything faster than a brisk walk a painful endeavor)

just received word that the IV antibiotics will continue and I have to see a spine specialist Friday.....this will put a big dent on my chances of going to Polkfest, but I'll see what news I get Friday.

as annoying as this is, I know many out there have it worse, so I try not to ****.

    Hey Tom,
I know this may seem like no big deal and its not compared to what has been posted in this thread but NASCAR racing sucks since Dale Sr. is gone. I used to live for race day just to watch King Dale work his magic. I really miss those days a lot. My wife does not miss them at all since I would get pissed off at times and drink many many Budweisers before, during and after the race.
I wish you and all the people here the best.

That is what I am most worried about. I have waited for 4 years to get these orders and if all goes according to plan I am supposed to have the surgery Nov. 16th and the recovery process can take up to a year. I have to go back to the surgeon a few times for "adjustments" and to have the sutures taken out. If I get Med boarded for this I may be screwed, but if I blow it off I may not get medically cleared to PCS. I am in quite a pickle, lol. I have to make some calls and find out exactly what could happen, so long story short I don't really know what it means for my orders.
