bobman, I don't know if your entire comment was directed at me, but it sure seems like you read alot into my short comment. I never even said the word prison. I just found it funny that for the only things we do know about this woman:
A. that she has a child
B. that she has SERIOUS anger management issues, and
C. that she's obviously ok with expressing that anger in front of her child
so many people felt that point A deserves leniency despite B and C. Hey, everyone's entitled to their opinion. I find that humorous and deserving of a smarmy response.
It's not necessarily aimed at you, I just think everyone's a little too quick to sentence someone to serious punishment, and judging her entire life and ability to parent, for what appears to be a singular offense. It's easy to sit hundreds of miles away and scream for someone's head. I'm certainly no bleeding heart and I do think people should be "punished" per the law, but I DON'T think someone's entire life should be ruined, not to mention the life of their child, based solely on one event. If she's truly as bad a parent as you guys all want to immediately assume she is, then sure, the kid might be better off without her (though given the foster care system, that's still doubtful), but she may also just be a normal / strung out person who snapped and now a bunch of strangers are saying she should be killed. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -

Let her walk only if she can beat Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable in a fight -

I guess if someone has a kid, they can get away with assault? this lady was 280lbs....thats 25 lbs lighter than ME folks, and if I attacked someone, they would have a bad day.
she jumped in a car and chased her 3 blocks, thats NOT heat of the moment, that is full blown intent to harm. this is a nation of laws, you just cant crack someone in the jaw and cause serious injury, then say she should get away with it because she has a kid.
Children do, and always will, suffer for the sins of there parents. it's a fact of life. She deserves jail time. It's not about society getting it's pound of flesh, it's about being a deterrent to others to not chase people needless down the street and assault them hard enough to cause significant injury without cause.
