Went to see this movie at local small run movie place last night and I must say it is a powerful film. A documentary about the absolute slaughter of dolphins in a small town in Japan every fall. I'm a wildlife biologist by trade and am by no means an animal rights activist but this movie made my blood boil. These animals are intelligent, sentient beings, and how these people can just slaughter them or sell them to animal amusement parks is beyond my understanding. Then, on top of that, to sell their meat (which is laced with huge amounts of mercury) to schools all over Japan is criminal. I hope this movie shames the Japanese government into stopping this barbaric ritual. If you havent seen it, do so.

Anyone else on here see this movie yet??

It had been on my short list when it was released about two months ago. I'm afraid it's run its course in the Atlanta area, so I may have to wait for its home release.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Yep, it never even played in any of the major theatres here in Anchorage. I had to go to one of the venues here that shows independent films and documentaries. I will definately buy it when it comes out. Hope it gets a Blue Ray release....

Just seen this movie! This movie was filmed very beautifully and it touches many issues at hand - social, ethnicity, killing for foods, food shortages, racial issues, etc.

I am quite speechless after seeing this film. It's not about what's right or what's wrong. It's about killing dolphins unnecessarily when dolphins meats are not even consumed in most part of Japan.
Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin:
