Hello,
As my polk RT3s passed away I was looking for a replacement. Two options were found localy for about 70$:
The Bostons' sound very tight but has less 'body' than the celestions'. During the audition I noticed one of the foam surrounds is loose . It is needed to be glued or maybe even replaced as the speaker is about 20yo.
I appreciate your knowledge and views. What do you think about these?

I am not sure about the speakers that you reference, so this may not be very useful. However, I owned the RT3s for a time and I did like them, but not as much as either the newer Rt25i or the Rti4. My favorite of the 3 is the rt25i. I really like the tweeter in that series, and the powerport makes for some great bass from a small pair of speakers. These can be had on ebay for a great price if your patient (i.e under 100 bucks shipped). One other suggestion: I bought the rt3s to use as surrounds with the RT7s which serve as my mains at home. The RT7s are GREAT speakers. The bass is incredible, I really like the tweeter, and the imaging and soundstage are very good. It is a large speaker however, so look out for that. There is a pair on ebay right now for a very good price that I would snag up if I needed another pair:

amiti,
Did you end up replacing your RT3s? I have a badly damaged grill on one of mine and I was hoping you might have one you no longer have a use for. Let me know if you do and how much you want for it. Thanks.

I still hope to have them repaired one way or the other.
