Hey Guys, I have a very nice set of SDA-SRS 1.2TL's for sale, asking $1600. I am the second owner and have the original 1.2 Manual and Interconnection cable. The feet are the original rounded bottoms and nothing has been changed or replaced. I purchased these awhile back from the original owner who did not move them at all for 15 years. So they are all stock and in great condition.

Side Note- I am looking for a pair of orignal SRS's, so if you have a nice set we can discuss a possible trade (upgraded tweets would be nice). Otherwise I will still sell them outright and look for the orignals in time.

I am willing to travel up to 100 miles to meet up and help out on travel and gas. I live in the Cleveland, OH area, so please PM me if you are interested!

Thanks,

Dan

They look very nice. Why would you want to change them for the SRS's?

Thanks Ricardo, great question....My Pops just got a set of srs's and I like the 93db, and deeper bass sound. The 1.2TL's are awesome, but for my personal tastes I like the old school SRS's. MANY people here will think I'm nuts, so I know these 1.2TL's will serve someone else nicely.

That's not really deeper bass, it's a bit of pumped up mid-bass, which gives the illusion of more bass. The 1.2TL's bass is more accurate. The SRS's are also 4 ohm loads, so make sure your power can handle them as they dip much lower.

Great price on those speakers. I hope they stay in the family.

F1nut, your absolutely correct!! I am sorry to word the bass issue that way, but in a nutshell I think I like the original SRS's as "my" particular choice in speaker. Thanks for the words, and I know someone here will want these awesome speakers.

I also preferred my SDA-SRS's as I think they had a better sound stage. I just upgraded my 1.2TL xovers with Sonicaps for the highs and Solens for the lows, also Mills resistors. The sound stage improved but still seems nothing like the original SRS's. Since I have owned these TL's I have thought something was wrong with them, like no SDA effect. Even with the upgrades the sound stage is poor. I hear sound from the left speaker and the right like too much stereo separation as used on 70's recordings. This is with excellently recorded CD's. (Telarc, Chesky, Windham Hill Jazz) I have not really done much to set the TL's up though. Usually it takes me about 2 weeks to get my system set up as I want it to sound. Will wait until I get a test CD I normally use to find proper location for them. (An ex-g/f got about 250 of my CD's when we split, including all my test CD's!)

Have you checked the phase issues that others have been discussing? Appearantly the factory mis-wired a lot of the 1.2Tl's when new...

That's based on what data...a few posts on this forum? It happens but don't think that ALOT of them rolled off the line the way you found yours.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Thanks Guys, I have never opened up these speakers to check out the wiring. They sound just fine, and at this point it's better to let someone else look under the hood.

PM's are sent back, a couple of guys are going to send me pics on possible SRS trades. If I can't work out a deal, SuperJunior you can most certainly swing by and check them out...I'll keep everyone posted. I really appreciate the excitement and positive responses from this thread..I would not want these to go to anyone else but a fellow Club member.

I am having an issue with sending pictures thru hotmail so I will post my SRS speakers here so you can see them. They are in excellent condition with the new RDO 194's. I was looking at your 1.2tl's are they in a cherry finish. Mine as you can see are in oak. Thanks.

Yes I am aware. I started the thread with a post I made about the phasing incorrect in my TL's. It appears I had a 1.2 tweeter wiring harness in one TL cabinet. This led me to learn the phase markings on tweeter array connector on the TL crossover board are wrong.

The 1.2 and TL models use different tweeter phasing. So, if you upgrade a 1.2 to the TL crossover you have to rewire the tweeter connector going to the crossover board to match the 1.2TL schematic.

When I finished upgrading the 2nd crossover I found another factory error in the crossover circuit. Part of the circuit is disabled because a jumper was not installed by the factory. I will post about this and the upgrade I did differently than others have when I get some pics together.

Will we swapped speakers tonight and all went well. I really enjoyed meeting Dan and talking Polk speakers with him. It was fun to compare the SRS 1.2tl's to the original SRS speakers. I think we both came out content with the trade. Thanks Dan for bringing the speakers to my house, I hope you enjoy the SRS speakers and have a safe trip home.

Yes, all is good....I thank you for letting me see the hall of Polk Speakers you have going on...it was a pleasure meeting up with you Blucomet, I think I will re-do the wood Caps and be a very happy camper. I may start a new thread on that, but I am sure one was done before. Thanks again
